GaMe Of ThRoNeS--- Final season

Episode 5 left a lot of questions as to how people knew things that had no back story. Deaths were strange endings. Seems there is a rush to get the series over. The least thought out season of all (8). Who’s gonna kill the Dragon Queen next week?

Maybe John will kill her but I was wondering about Arya Stark. That fire lady said she would kill people with different color eyes. Not 100% but I think the dragon queen has blue eyes. Maybe the fire lady was talking about her killing the dragon queen instead of the night walkers?

I’m thinking the dwarf Tyrion kills her. Either way I think it’s obvious she’s mad like her dad and she’s going down. Too much rush to end the series. Didn’t let it play out more.

Nah blue eyes was definitely the night king. She also said green eyes which I thought would be Cersei. She's in the running for Dany, but I'm betting on Jon due to the Azor Ahai prince that was promised prophecy.

@BlackGun I didn’t even think about the dwarf, he’s one of our (wife and I) favorite characters. I thought he’d be dead by now but glad he’s made it.

@Sevenshot I don’t recall the prophecy you mentioned, I’ll have to give it look.

One thing for sure is that this last season has went really fast and I hate it’s almost over.

Tyrian Has out-thought everyone..... and a Lanaster always pays his debt...
There's something that he'll play a role in....I think it's getting Jon to the throne though....

Foreshadowing that she rode out on a white horse so maybe she rides in on one?

I think the horse might be Bran warging. I can't remember for sure but I think Lyanna Stark had a white horse and Arya is supposed to be exactly like Lyanna. If that's correct, I think it was Arya fully going back to be Arya rather than no one.

With Cersei and Jaime gone, wouldn't that make Tyrion next in line?

The Baratheons technically had the throne, not the Lannisters, though not many noblemen are left so Tyrion isn't too far down the line. Robert Baratheon's grandmother was a Targaryan, which is partly why he got the throne over others after the rebellion, but it was still a sketchy claim to other nobles.

Here are my thoughts for the last episode....

Dany is gonna die.
Will it be by Jon....Arya?...or will Jon and Dany do a Romeo and Juliet type of suicide???
Could Dany tell Dragon to set Jon on fire....and he comes out unharmed since he is Tagareyn??!!

I'm thinking either Jon gets the throne... or Tyrion does. Don't underestimate him. He had truly had his heart in the right place and would be a good King. He and Jon both believed in Dany...and both got betrayed....
I can't wait....

My guess is that the kid in the wheelchair will take control of the dragon and that will even the playing field for followers to kill Dany and put Jon on the throne.

Remember not all Targaryans are immune to fire. There were past Targaryans who tried to hatch dragon eggs after the last dragons had died out by doing what Dany did. Her brother also was not immune.

i hadn't considered this. Dragon bonding is a big deal in the books and warging any animal larger than a wolf is difficult. And canines coexisting so well with humans is considered the reason why they are possible. There was a legendary warg who could warg a polar bear, but it mentally fought him the whole time. A dragon would elevate Bran far beyond any of his legendary peers,

Many people are saying that the white horse is a symbol of death. Some think she might already be dead and not know it. She could possibly take on a Lady Stone Heart type roll or that she has fully become a "faceless man" and is the new Jaqen H'ghar. Others think she is now death and reference the 4 horseman of the Apocalypse.

“I saw, and look! a pale horse, and the one seated on it had the name Death. And the Grave was closely following him. And authority was given them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with a long sword and with food shortage and with deadly plague and by the wild beasts of the earth.”—Revelation 6:8.

He did control that one guy, hoedoor. Probably butchered the spelling.

I believe that it is going to be John and Tyrion and that Varys' ring might play a part. He was using the girl from the kitchen as one of his "little birds" and was trying to poison Danny before he was executed. When they come for Varys they deliberately show him taking off his ring and placing it in a bowl. Tryion knew he was going to try to kill Danny. He asked him not to. When he saw Varys talking to John on the beach he knew had set the plan in motion. Remember that Geoffry was killed using poison from a fake jewel in a necklace by Olenna Tryell. Why else would they show you him taking off that ring.

I think that Arya will not be the killer. Her story arc has peaked like I said before she is now death and a true faceless man who will continue to shut many eyes but not the queens or she is already dead and doesn't know it.

John has rejected Danny as a lover and now see her only as a Queen. After the last episode he sees her as a out of control Queen. His sense of honor and duty will compel him to kill her. I however think he dies in the process. I hope that they kill Danny and then the Dragon goes ape shit all over Kings Landing and that it kills everyone ending the Game of Throne and decentralizing the power of Westeros. Sansa because she is not there is Queen of the North. Yara rules the Iron Islands. Sam is Lord Tarley, Gendry Lord of Storms End etc....

Another crazy theory going around is that the balance of fire and ice has been destroyed. Only fire remains and that is why Danny is going crazy. Fire uncontrolled leads to madness. So people think that Bran will create a new Night King. People found his death very unsatisfying and that they will "resurrect" him to bring back the balance between fire and ice. I don't know if I buy it. Lots of speculation on who would he shank with the dragon glass. Arya, John, himself etc.....

No matter how it ends it all feels rushed. Lots of story arcs were not fully explored but its still been a pretty good ride.

Yeah....I think they OWE the fans a 10 episode final season. Shortening it just rushed all the story lines like you said!

The problem is that no matter how you do it wrapping up a 7+ season show is going to be unfulfilling. IMHO I really can't name a show that ended perfectly. Sopranos? MASH? Seinfield? Breaking Bad? ER? Cheers? The list goes on and on. Too many ran too long and became a shell of what they once were so I give them some credit that they didn't want to go out that way.

But I am with you I would have liked to see 10 regular length episodes because I thing it would have allowed them to tie up more story arcs.

It's obvious that John is to blame for this whole thing. If he would have just slept with Dany one more time, she would not have gone crazy on King's Landing. "fear it is....".

It was true then and its true now. If he had actually learned anything from his "father" Ned Stark he would understand that there are times for the great good and for the peace of the realm one has to tell a lie or withhold the truth. In the end Ned died because he came to believe his own myth of absolute honor. John could have saved himself from being murdered, he could have lied to Cersei and not revealed he had bent the knee he could have told Danny he loved her and she might not have burn Kings Landing.

In the end I am glad that she burned Kings Landing. They tried to paint those in Kings Landing as innocent victims but they are the ones who cheered for Ned beheading. They loved Geoffry and Robert Baratheon. They cheered and worshipped the High Sparrow. In many ways they deserved what they got.

Hodor was possible because he was simple. The legendary polar bear warg couldn't warg a regular person.

Something I've been considering is what if Jon Snow subconsciously wants an identity? He always wanted to be a Stark (more of this in the books as we can be in their heads in a book vs tv) and now that he has a true identity that Dany wants to take from him.

or....was he simple because the 3-eyed raven warg'd him?

The show doesn't do a good job of explaining this but essentially warg and greenseer are 2 separate abilities. Wargs are extremely rare and greenseers are exponentially rarer. In the case of Hodor, Bran was using both abilities simultaneously. This exposed young Wylis (later Hodor) to a vision of his gruesome future death and gave him a seizure, which both together short circuited his brain. Warging into a normal person is bad news. The polar bear warg tried to steal a body while he was about to die and it caused the lady to go crazy and kill herself.

What if they did it like movies from awhile ago.... where someone wakes up and it was all a dream!! Dany has the "dream" of what would happen if she becomes the mad Queen.....then she changes course.....and stops when the bells ring.
Jon and Tyrion's faith in her is still there. Her and Jon get married......

Not really anything surprising... Not bad, but nothing really exciting.

They did almost have me with the democracy thing...

I think that most people that do not like the ending just don't like the fact that it is the END. No outcome would have been climatic enough for them.

My only beef is how Cersi's character ended up... it could have been more.... Arya involved....
Yep. Arya chopping off her head. The actors have been ready to move on to real money for quite a while as they grew up on GOT over 8 years. And certainly there could be at least one.

I haven't kept up with the series as well as I would like, but I have read the summaries and stuff. My only beef was the moronic way they fought that Battle of Winterfell and that after all these seasons Cersei is killed by a brick.

Well i don't know about you guys but i was not impressed with last nights show. The ending was ho hum for the most part. One of my boys says there going to have three spin off shows and that is why they set this up the way they did. I think he read it on the Internets. We all know how good the information is from there :)
