For those of you who know and appreciate Ganzo knives (all three of you lol), this is just a heads-up that they've released several carbon fiber knives in their "premium" Firebird line.

These knives combine the usual Ganzo specs (G-Lock, 440c, solid construction) with real carbon fiber scales and drilled liners (finally). As you can see, this results in a much lighter knife (and addresses one of the biggest criticisms of Ganzo knives):

Gearbest appears to be the best place to get them right now, but they'll probably start showing up on Amazon soon.

I kind of like the blue hardware they put on some of them. It looks good to my eye.

Oh, and while I'm on the subject, Ganzo (finally) started making a "midsize" G-Lock knife. It is also in their Firebird line:

It has drilled liners like the other Firebirds, and is smaller and lighter than regular Ganzos (as you'd expect). There is one minor flaw atypical of Ganzos though - the thumb studs have a sharp edge. But whatever, it's an $11 knife that feels like a $40 knife.

Here's a comparison with one of their "full size" knives:

They aren't up on Amazon yet but Gearbest has them.

They are well-made knives. Put them side-by-side with a Benchmade and it's tough to see much of a difference:

Of course, Benchmades cost what they do for two very good reasons: they are all made in the USA and they all use premium steels. Ganzo uses much cheaper 440c but they've got their heat treat right. All of my Ganzos take and hold a good edge.

(Benchmade actually did make some knives in Taiwan for a while. I have one of them and it's decent but not as nice as a Ganzo.)

How does the G-lock differ from the Axis lock, maybe it doesn't since it looks about the same.

Different brand names for the same design. Benchmade's patent has expired; now it is time for the free market to take over.

Haha Ganzos are bad that way! You sit down to order one and end up with twelve...

I've had to temporarily stop buying knives to focus on buying flashlights, 18650 batteries, and fancy-pants chargers. This is all @2slow 's fault.

Which way to the flashlight sub-forum?

Schweet. I don't buy expensive knives because I lose things too easily. I once had a pair of Ray Bans for like 5 days.
I dropped my first pair of RayBans in the lake looking over a shad net. Last time I spent more than $10 on sun glasses.

You are correct.... that's not enough charger for all those lights.

mine finally arrived!

here are the knives I bought and the prices I paid (got a few on sale). I got free shipping since I spent over 60 total. It took about a month for them to get here.

Ganzo G742-1-GR Frame Lock Folding Knife $13.75
Ganzo G743 - 2 - OR Folding Knife $15.35
Ganzo G7533 - CF Foldable Knife $14.99
Ganzo Firebird F729 - CF Axis Lock Folding Tactical Pocket Knife $15.23
GANZO Firebird F733 - CF Axis Lock Pocket Folding Knife $14.62

I'm very happy with the quality for the price point. My favorite so far is the G743. Kind of reminds me of the kershaw leek.
