I was in Lowe's and saw their garage storage cabinets. Anyone use these things? They look decent, but no idea if they are worth the money.

Also, what are folks preferred way to hang/store rakes, shovels, trimmers, clippers, etc. etc.?

Trash can is not a horrible way to store tools especially in a corner, just turn handles upside down in can and you may want to anchor can. Have seen a pallet used as well stood up. Old standbye and still one of the best i have found is a 2x4 anchored to wall with bunch of nails spaced apart drove in with heads cut off. Then just need to drill a small hole in the handle of what you want to hang if need be.

i think they are overpriced but if you buy a set it makes a work area look real nice if that matters to you :) they can be somewhat limiting as to what you can store at time as they dont allow alot of customizations for various size objects.

you can find a lot cheaper options on craigslist if your patient and think outside the box a bit (i got a large metal mail sorter type thing for 50 bucks -all my power tools are in there, and each shelf can be sized up and down depending on size of tool so in a relatively small footprint i have a wall of tools that are real easy to get to. i switched most handtools etc that get used alot to hang on pegboard so as im at the bench working i dont have to dig through drawers that often.

for garden tools - i got tired of knocking over the cheap plastic floor things they sell - if not secured to a wall etc anything thats top heavy flips it over too easily. as number of shovels, rakes, hoes, etc grew i gave up on the brackets i had attched to studs in the shed and bought one of these - it wasnt this brand but looks just like it - this is more than i remember paying though. (i think i got a cheaper brand off ebay). the pros of something like this was it let me put multiple tools on long hooks in a short 4 foot wide area - everything was off the floor not falling around and still easy to get to. was thick metal so has held the weight real well. the short hooks only hold one tool roughly - but the longer can hold three or four pretty easy, so multiple shovels go on one, rakes go on another etc

Got four of the chrome bakers racks off eBay with wheel kit included about $50 each.
