So my 11.5" is gassed to run unsuppressed and it gasses me out after 5 rounds suppressed outside. Do you guys just accept that or do you tune it to only run suppressed?

Important parts:
  • 11.5" mid length
  • Turbo K
  • Superlative Arms Bleed Off block tuned to 2 clicks past just functioning unsuppressed
  • I think it's a 3.3 oz buffer but it's a JP silent spring and I don't feel like taking it apart to measure
  • RTV sealant added to charging handle
Are there options like most piston guns have with quick switch settings? I wanted a MicroMOA but those aren't made any more. I'm not quite skilled enough to make my own on my cheap mill but it looks doable.

My main ones are set to only function suppressed. They become single shot rifles if the can is removed. I only shoot unsuppressed to demonstrate the noise difference, and have dedicated cans for each host...and those two things make me comfortable tuning my rifles that way.

They have SLR gas blocks. Most have RTV and a small hole in the (standard style) CH.

You can get adjustable carriers. There are also adjustable gas blocks with easier features. Seekins and Strike Industries have tool-less options.

Adjustable BCGs like Gemtech and Bootleg are other options.

You can also go with adjustable gas keys and just swap carriers (or complete BCGs) if you want. Rubber City Armory offers those.

And it’s a shame the Govnah is gone. :(

There's also the noveske switch block. I don't have one, but they seem like a good concept except your rail choices become very limited.

JP does make a heavier version of the silent capture system so that's another option to.

That said, I think the above addressees everything.

Seems like the two position adjustable carrier might be the best option.

There used to be a company that made an adjustable receiver, but I haven't heard anything about them in a long while. It was interesting, basically it had a two position valve at the gas tube with a switch on the side of the upper.

Innovative Arms WAR upper receiver works well for suppressed/unsuppressed shooting with a “regular” gas block.

Otherwise I just dial it in for the can.

I think I've decided on just tuning it for only suppressed use. The more I think about it, I don't really have a reason to shoot it without the can. Thanks for the input!
