I just watched a video on how to use the RCBS hand primer tool. WOW, that's easy! And a lot faster than messing with the primer installer on the Rock Chucker! So, I went to EBAY and ordered one. Most, were near $50, but there was one, just one, LOL that was $26 shipped, so, it's on way!

If it is like my old RCBS hand primer, the bevel on the plastic insert that holds the shell holder may not allow the use of other brands of shell holders. I use mainly RCBS dies and shell holders, so there is no problem for me. It is no great financial burden to invest in an RCBS shell holder for each size you use.

Several things to remember. There are two different size plastic inserts and two different size ram rods, one set for large primers and one set for small primers. Make sure you put in the ram rod so the flat surface contacts the primer. The rod is flat on one end and round on the other. It is wise to put a rubber band around the primer tray after you load it with primers.

Thanks! I am not against tips of the trade

Description said it only takes RCBS shell holders??

And thanks for the info, on the want list!

My RCBS hand primer wouldn't accept my Redding shell holder, I'm OK with it though. I bought the Universal RCBS hand primer too (no shell holders) and it seems to work OK.

Yep! I got it right by luck the first time and didn't realize I'd put the flat side down my second time priming. Didn't crush a primer because I stopped when it didn't feel right but I disassembled it and figured out where I went wrong.

Remember, remove crimps really well or the primer might not seat and you don't want to force them. Go easy and get the feel for it. Wear eye pro!
