Was always a issue with Sous Vide items....was.
Smoked up house,made wife unhappy, etc.

Had the turkey fryer burner out for something else, has done a eye of round for some homemade Pho.... figured let's see what we can do.

I cant be the only one that thought the second pic looks a little like a dudes head :eek:.... looks like a hell of a sear on that. I do the same thing but use the Coleman camping propane burner. Works amazing with the cast skillet.

I have a good Bosch 600-CFM hood fan that vents outside through the roof for this exact reason. If I did not have that thing my house would constantly be filled with smoke. I use a cast iron pan which I set under the broiler for 30 minutes than put it on the stove top with the flame on high in order to get a good sear.

I like the turkey fryer idea. Nicely done!
 
That’s effing burnt. No good for me. 20-30 seconds a side on a grill is plenty. Any more and it’s ruined
