Ghost gun question for North Carolina

I live in South Carolina and we don't have a permit problem like North Carolina for the purchase of handguns but I was wondering about North Carolina. I just got in a polymer 80% lower is why I ask (quality is sweet for $80). Ghostguns.com has entire 80% Glock kits that are delivered to your door. Cost a little more than an actual Glock but still under $700.

So my question is, do you guys in North Carolina need a permit from the sheriff to buy one of these kits? Or upon completion do you have to GET a permit or anything weird like that?

I get that it doesn't have a serial and is non traceable. Do you have to legally have a permit to own it in NC is the question.

The permit is for purchasing a pistol, not to own one.
The kit is not a pistol. No purchase permit required.
Once built, you already own it, so no purchase permit required.
