what say you. I have quite a few and I’m moving and don’t plan on taking any of them with me. I no you can’t sell them but what about giving them away as components

Any input appreciated

If you can break them down that will appeal to a lot more folks.

however, if you are giving them away hell I probably would take them and break them down myself

Whjat caliber we taking about

Unless your local jurisdiction prohibits the sale of reloaded ammo (you don't specify your location), I don't see a reason why you can't sell it. You're simply disposing of ammo that you can't take with you in the move. It's not like you're manufacturing ammo for the purpose of profit.

I would only give them to people I know for certain would not shoot them but would break them down for components. I have received quite a bit of ammo from a cousin. Some were reloads while some were factory. I broke down all the reloads, discarded all combustible components, and used the bullets and cases if they were serviceable.

edit: I may be wrong, but I do not think you can legally sell ammo that you made unless you have certain licenses that are required for people who manufacture ammo for sale. You would also be opening yourself up for massive liability issues.

I’ve pulled a lot, those calibers and more. At one point I had way more than I wanted to pull, 5 or 6 medium flat rate boxes full, so callled and asked the guys at a local range if they had a way to dispose of them. They said yes, but when I dropped them off it became clear that they were just going to shoot them. Of course I don’t recommend it, but it is a free country.

Not sure where you are, but if you just want someone to break them down for the brass I’m happy to do so.

.45, .223, .38 special, .40 , probably a few .308.

depending on location, I would be interested in the 223 and 308, maybe the 38 also.

I would sell them just for the fact that if some dumb dumb did decide to shoot them and something happened, in today's time they would probably come after you with a lawyer

To be clear. I don’t want to make any money. I want to make sure no one is going to shoot them and use the components only

Thanks for all the feedback. I have a friend who I trust. He reloads so he just hit the jackpot. He's getting close to 6k total rounds. Of course he has to pull them all:)
