Not really a replacement but something similar. My main handgun is the G19 3rd gen. I thinks it's about the perfect size and capacity. I'm looking at a similar size pistol but with better ergonomics. Not another glock.

Vp9sk, canik tp9sf elite, cz p10c, etc. What do you recommend? I have shot a vp9 full size and loved it. I have not handled the cz or canik but will. Needs to be 9mm, polymer frame, and hold at least 10 rounds.

Sit back and watch the fireworks. That's like asking whether chili should or shouldn't have beans (no beans for Jeppo). ;)

The first time I handled a VP9SK, it was almost an emotional experience. That gun just fits my hand in a way no other has. I carry it with the 10 round magazine with a 15 round VP9 magazine on my hip.

I'd probably also take a look at the M&P 2.0 Compact (15+1 but also takes the 17 round full size magazines) which comes in two barrel lengths. Let us know what you decide.

Yes, please keep the beans away from Jeppo.

How about the Glock 48? It's not just another Glock.

What do you mean when you say "better ergonomics"? Anything specific?

I have some issues with stock G19s that I can address for about $25 worth of replacement parts.

Hotdog chili has no beans! Chili soup has beans.
I would love to shoot a vp9sk before buying one but love the vp9 in fact I really hate i got rid of my vp9.

Main issue is the grip is very blocky. I have modified my G19s grip, stippled, most of the finger groves removed and under cut the trigger guard but it still is not amazing to hold.

Cruise up to High Point and bring some Hotdog chili. ;)

Look at the 48 it might fit what you want. There is the M&P Compact also, which has been the most accurate polymer pistol I have shot followed by the 48 or VP9. It’s not the same size but the P365 with the 12+1 magazine could be a very versatile option too.

CZp10c is a good option. The P07 killed the 19 for me. Better ergos, better capacity, better aesthetics. I’m not beholden to either the hammer or the striker, so just going to shooting experience.

How about the HK P30, hammer fired vs striker VP9? the VP has pushed down pricing on the P30. Video from 2010 but models today are similar.

I liked my p320, vp9 and a czp10 better than my glock. Even the m&p2.0 feels better to me.

I carry glocks because I shoot them well, holsters and parts are everywhere. And I feel like if SHTF, I’ll find more glocks/mags then any other handgun

I love my G19(s), but for me, the most natural and comfortable feeling factory grip I ever felted, is on my Browning Hi-Power.

It's the same reason I fell in love with the BDA 380, back in the day.

If your issue is with the grip you should hold a CZ 75 variant. My SP-01 has a better contour to the grip and feels way better in my hand than a G19.

They're giving away P10Cs in happy meals these days, and I just saw a PCR for $589+theft at my LGS. It's temping me but I think I want a PC01 first ;)

P320c, M&Pc, and p229 have replaced my G19. I’m not anti-Glock, just like others better. CZ’s look good, but I’ve never shot one. Try them all, then decide.

I have found that how a pistol feels in my hand, and how the trigger feels has fairly little to do with how well I will shoot it. I am not a Glock fanboy, and have never really liked how they feel compared to some others, but I've discovered I shoot them better than some other striker fire guns, even M&Ps that feel WAY better especially with an Apex FSS trigger installed.

The moral to this story is you will never figure out how well a gun runs for you standing at the handgun counter in the LGS.

Exactly what fieldgrade said. I've handled many a gun that felt better than a Glock, but shoot Glocks better than any others. Put some stress on yaself and try many, and see what works better, not feels better.

I’ve been around the block with this very same issue. I always end up going back to a Glock. I’m not thrilled with the ergonomics or the looks of the Glocks but I run them better than the others. Plus, I can work on them myself and parts, holsters, and accessories are cheap and abundant. I’m currently toting a Gen4 G26.

My Glock 19 is a Ruger Security 9.

My son the Glock Armorer got the RS9 and I liked it enough to talk him out of it. The pistol is a Glock 19 in all critical dimensions, but it has a hidden hammer and a better trigger than a Glock.

I am like @fieldgrade in that I can shoot Glocks well, but they are just not comfortable for me. The RS9 shoots even better for me and feels much better than a Glock.

Is it safe to call it a double action only or is it pre cocked to the point of not having the safety margin of a true double action first pull? I never thought to take a look at these until your post.

I’m with mr boyette. XDm. I always preferred the Xd lineup to Glock from the feel. However, if you take the Glock to a good ‘Smith. They can likely make it just as comfy. Not to mention ease of parts availability both factory and aftermarket.
Pics related: now my little girl hands can control the recoil of that big 9mm’s ‘splosion [emoji6]

This week, I shot my Dan Wesson 357 better in double action than in single action... that was a bit of a surprise for this single action snob.
Might be different when you install a hammer that doesn’t exhaust you cocking it. ;)

The Security 9 hammer is very substantially pre-cocked and it has no restrike ability. The trigger pull is about 5.5 pounds, so it does not qualify as a DA safety margin. The trigger travel seems less than a Glock (I have not measured it). However the trigger is described, Ruger saw fit to give the gun a trigger safety and a thumb safety.
