Glock 19X

Ya I don't get the shorter barrel but longer frame. I think the 19 frame fits alot of people.

I would like a 17 slide on a 19 frame too.

I have long wanted a 19 frame, 17 slide glock. I am just too lazy to go about ordering all the stuff to do it. It would be nice just to be able grab it off the shelf so to speak.

I like the 19 frame better, too.

Bingo; easier to conceal a long slide and short grip than vice versa
Not to mention that this is already possible simply with a G19, G17 mags and the mag sleaves that make them fit the G19 and look correct. We can't put a G17 frame on a G19 though which would make much more sense and give us something we can't do ourselves.

Wow, the level of innovation is staggering. Will they make a low-capacity version for compliant states? What's next, a G34 slide on a G26 frame?

Please though, just stop embarrassing those of us who still use your products.

could be for small people. They are shorter, but wide as regular sized people.

OK, I'm not a Glock fan boy but I do like them enough that I own 4 (17,19,26,43). That being said this just seems like Glock is screwing with us now. Let's face it, they've been selling the same pistol since 1982. Sure they offer different sizes, different calibers, finger groves, no finger groves and lately different colors but it's still basically the same gun they introduced roughly 36 years ago. Every few years they make a minor change and everybody loses their minds and all you here is "Have you seen the NEW Glock?" Yeah I saw it in 1982 and they haven't made a new gun since then. I don't see myself giving Glock any more money until they come up with something actually new and not just a retread.

So their essentially making a glock version of the sig P320 carry? I know the x will be drop safe lol

Wake me up when they do something about that squared monstrosity of a trigger guard that blisters the knuckle of a sizable portion of the people who shoot it.

Google the Glock 46 for the German Police trails. It uses a rotating locking system on the barrel instead of the Browning tilting locking. I think G19X is missed named, should have been G17X since the frame is a 17. Think of a Colt 5" Government and a Colt 4.25" Commander. Same frame but reduce length of slide/bbl. And I thought they had the Glock Prefection thing done since 82. They why all the changes?????

When you build the perfect gun, backwards is the only way to go.

It probably shoots great but was never intended for the concealed carriers. If they had given it a new model number and we wouldn’t be laughing about it.

I’m not feeling it. My edc is a 17 with 19 length grip chop. That’s the gun I want them to make. Or just make gen 5 regular sized G19 in that cool baby poop color.

Was hoping for the g19 gen5 mos. Got this...

Ill admit, at first, I was kinda a hater...but I saw it explained like this...correct me if I am wrong:

This wasn't supposed to be for "US" as civilian users. It was supposed to be for the military and it was built to their specs. A certain length barrel, high magazine capacity, interchangeable backstraps. The whole "less concealable than a 19 and less barrel length than a 17" was moot because it wasn't intended to be concealed, the grip was needed to be larger to facilitate handling with gloves and with standard higher cap magazines, and the barrel length wasn't an issue because it is a "Crap has hit the fan and I don't have my rifle anymore" type of side arm where the barrel length really wont make much accuracy difference. A shorter barrel probably also helps with carrying it in a hip holster with sitting down in vehicles...I dunno.

Long story short, this was what Glock wanted the military to buy, now that that pooped out hey have to recoup the costs, so just toss it out to the Glock fanboys who would buy Glock flavored hemorrhoid cream.

pooped out, brown, now I get it.

but really, what costs are they recouping? nothing on there is new except the combination of parts, putting GMC wheels on a Chevy pickup doesn't take all that much PM time. the only new bits were the safety, and that's not on here. ah, well, I guess the lanyard took some R&D dollars. and getting the browns to not quite match.

Beats me, I am not in the gun making business. I assume they need to recoup the cost of lawyers fighting the governments decision, the engineers that said "YOU KNOW WHAT IS REALLY PERFECTION!!! GRIP PANELS >AND< A LANYARD!", Gastons next ex-wife maybe...

Slide markings are different, frame is different (had manual safety in trails). So, can't be bunch of parts laying around.

You can cut a 17 frame to 19 size and 19 frame to 26 size with less than a days worth of effort. You can also buy a lot of full size glocks at bargain prices these days.

Mag sleeves to upsize guns is kind of goofy in my opinion. The resulting grip shape is usually not good and they tend to pinch.

Why on earth would anyone want a full size frame with a compact slide????

I think the answer I would see for that question would come to suppression. I like the balance of the 19x and I sold off all my Glocks years ago. I could see the shorter slide giving better balance for suppressor use.
