I'm a big fan of the Vickers Glock parts in general. I feel like the quality and reliability of their stuff far surpasses the price (which is great). I carry the plus-2 extension for my 43 spare mags all the time. I do keep a Taran+1 in the gun, but prefer the Vickers+2 over the three times as much and not as reliable Taran+2 or +3 as spares...

Anyhow, I shot my 43 in a match last week and was quite disappointed with my mag changes. Couldn't get the mags to drop free with the factory release without altering my grip and even then it was inconsistent. So I installed the Vickers tac release. It's curved unlike most of the blocky blocky extended releases on the market. It protrudes a bit more to give you a positive release without changing your grip, but doesn't stick out like a big Lego block.

I also didn't care for the lack of purchase on the slide lock/release. I like the option for one handed slide drops. So, I installed the Vickers extended release. It's again a minimal protruding part and doesn't get in the way, but gives me just enough grip and purchase to easily drop the slide with my strong hand and no grip change.

Lastly, and just because, I have been considering the Overwatch Precision trigger after my cousin let me shoot his and I was really impressed. I installed a Hyve Monarch in my girl's 43 and it's sweet too. I wanted an upgrade but really didn't want to drop $150 on a trigger. Enter Vickers again. Their tac flat poly trigger shoe can be had for around $30. So went all in and installed it. Less pre-travel, shorter reset, and a really nice feel compared to stock with the same positive"wall" and break I'm used to in a decent Glock trigger.

All in all, I'm stoked. I feel the functionality issues I was having are non-issues now. For $65 total, it's a lot of upgrade for a little coin...

Coupled with the minimalist holster I designed, a double and two single mag holders, I feel like I am ready to run this little guy...

Interesting to hear the vickers mag release helped with your sticky mags situation. I noticed the same thing happening with my 43 and realized if I press the mag release extra firmly it will cause it not to drop free but if I just give it a regular press it is fine.

On the clock or under pressure I’m sure it’s more likely I’ll give it a extra firm push.
I’m a lefty using my index finger so I think that exacerbated the problem. I’ll have to try the vickers release and see if it helps.

It wasn't so much sticky as the shape of the release being flat and damn near flush with the frame required me to torque my grip around to depress it enough to release the mag. At the same time it would cause the meat of my palm to block the mag dropping out. The small protrusion on the Vickers alleviates both of those things.

Earlier last year a coworker bought a new G43 and had sticky mag problems. He told me (just reporting second hand here) that he called Glock and they sent him new mags as they had a problem with some of the mags they recently produced. This was around January of last year if that makes any difference. So...it might just be a mag issue. Food for thought.

Also...the mag changes with the subcompacts in IDPA are a new adventure every time...lol.

Sticky, as in they stick to the palm of my strong hand when I try to drop them, LOL

I've broken a fingernail or two stripping them out on the clock a time or two.

I have both the Vickers slide release, and Vickers +2 mag extensions that @bigfelipe recommended here last year.

If you shoot every IDPA match till the summer with your G43...you might have those mag changes worked out. It took me quite a few competitons to get the Shield mag changes done right, and the G43 mags are even shorter.

I have to strip 'em. Only way for me to get them out.

It was a matter of the shape of the release. I have a bunch of mags from a range of time. Same with all of them. Just not enough purchase without changing my grip to depress the factory release. If I adjusted the grip I can drop it, but then I have to adjust it back as well.

Well...on the bright side its a Glock...so you shouldn't have any ammo bobbles or misfeeds if you have to use it. Practice head shots...lol
As Amp said recently after shooting it, my G43 "is a laser".

I have to shoot every week with every other gun I own to be able to run them in a match that weekend and not embarrass myself. But the G43 practically shoots itself.
