I have been through a bunch of different carry pistols over the years. I started out with a G26 and loved it. But I felt the need to move on to greener pastures. I ended up back with a G19 not too long after. I had it for a while but, again, felt the need to try something new. Went through CZ, Sig, S&W, Ruger. I ended up back with a G19. This time it is HK. I have a P2000SK and while it's a great gun, I hear the a G19 calling me again. It's familiar, simple, easy to disassemble, cheaper parts and mags, and I shoot them pretty well. I have been relegated to a single pistol at the moment for reasons I'll not go into. I'm thinking that the G19 might fill the "If you could only have one pistol" role better than the HK.
Anyway, I always like to hear different perspectives from you all. I'm not asking for advice. More looking to see if anyone else has had a similar experience. Not necessarily with Glocks.

Yep. Insert Ruger and Kahr in place of yours and it's the same old story. I undercut the trigger guard on mine and cut the finger grooves down and it is now the most comfortable carry piece I have.

I actually like the finger grooves. I have never tried an undercut trigger guard though.

No Walther yet? Mags aren't cheap as a glock, but the PPQ melts to your hand and has a factory trigger that beats any striker fired pistol out there, better than some expensive after market trigger options. Some people's look at it and complain about the bore axis, but I notice no difference in recoil between it and a g19.

I'm still carrying the Ruger LC9S, striker fired version, for a slim single stack option. Trigger is butter smooth, but it has a long reset. The CZP10 will probably be the next handgun I try.

I'll never discourage one from a g19. I have quite a few of them

1.-for carry
2.-for range use
3.-with a light in a quick access safe

All of those 3 are set up exactly the same, spartatn tactical night sights from Ameriglo and everything else stock. These 3 also have at least 1k rds through them.

The others I have are really superfluous, but I haven't found a pistol I like better than the g19 so I tend to just accumulate them when I don't need them. Just put an RMR on one of the extra ones I have, that one is currently the one getting shot the most.

With everything you can do with a g19 and the support that goes along with that, it's hard for me to choose anything else. The new CZ P10c comes close, but not yet. I still have way too many g19s. When the M series comes out, I'm sure I'll pick up 2 or maybe 4 of them...heh.

if you wanna go full circle back to the g26, I just so happen to know where you could get one...heh again.

Im jealous...... i actually WANT to love the glock, I love the idea of it, the track record of it, the way that every SINGLE glock is the same no matter what size, the cheap mags that you can get from 3rd parties. I love it all on paper, but when I shoot them I just cant love them. I rented a bunch of guns to get the feel for them all, vp9, sig p320, MP9, glock, and the glock just felt square, uncomfortable, and rubbed my finger the wrong way on that trigger guard. I know you can make them into anything you want, but for me I picked up the Sig p320 and it just felt great. Then the shield for my EDC because it just dissapears and I shoot it decently well also and its comfortable. But I agree, I love the concept of the glock, just wish I loved the reality of it also.

I am a glock guy. Own too many of them. However if I was to have one gun forever and only one. My gen 2 GLOCK 19 Will be the one.

You can't go wrong. Aftermarket parts a plenty and replacement parts too. Best of both worlds for carry and range work and great mag capacity as well.

Now you have to decide between gen 3 and gen 4 and the new FS option looks nice although I haven't tried one.

I like to rotate my EDC around my ever growing collection, currently I am stuck on my S&W Shield in 45 ACP, previous to that it was a Kimber Pro Carry II, then a Springfield XDS, a Ruger SR9C and even a Ruger GP100 357. I tried to shoot a Glock on more than one occasion, they are not for me, I am not a fan of the grip angle and I have a hard time getting used to sighting down that square block. I will leave the Glock's to those that like em, they are just no for me.

Pretty much all of my range time is shooting Glock 19s at steel at ~25 yards.

It's the only handgun I shoot at the moment, and the only one I see myself shooting in the foreseeable future.

I've got some G34s in the safe, but I don't shoot competition, so thinking about selling those off so I can finish some PF940C builds.

I recently bought a G19, specifically because of the hoopla surrounding them. Admittedly, to me it's like holding a brick. My G29 with grip extensions fits me like a glove though, and I don't have bear paws nor girly hands.

Just saw this and had to post.

I don't really "like" Glocks, but I carry one daily, and now shoot one in every match.

They just work for me.

I'm right there with you. I think we've even swapped guns there a couple times in our transitions into/out of Glock's. I finally gave up. Said no more carry guns but Glocks. Then I ended up with a VP9. Now I'm torn. Feels better and shoots better than the 19 but it's just not a 19. Can't figure out what to do

Yup. I bought a couple from you. For whatever reason the VP series does not fit me at all.

Know the feeling. I have sold and traded several firearms, but I always find my way back to Glocks. They are simple to operate, dependable, and easy to maintain. I have avoided the CZ fever and will stick with what works for me.

I don't own a Glock simply because I think they're uglier than sin.

By all accounts, they're a good gun with a lot going for them. (Except for that fake "safety" thing.)

But they're ugly and I'm not going to own one because of that.

Besides...if Superman's after your *ss and you run out of bullets, you couldn't even make him duck by throwing a Glock at him.

I'm not anti or in the fan-boy category. I own one Glock, a G20. I wanted a dead nuts reliable, high capacity 10mm. Other than that, I'm comfortable living my life without one. My FNS-9 fills my full sized duty pistol category very nicely.

FN good choice. I've heard the best part of being a glockie is that when you say glock 50 other glockies come over to you and give you hj's.

I've had several Glocks in 9mm, 40, and 10mm varieties. The only ones I would consider answering the call for again would be the 20 or 29. Otherwise, I carry an M&P 9c or Kimber Stainless Pro Raptor in 9mm. I just shoot them better, and they're easier on the eyes. Lately, the XDs have been callimg me back. Fortunately, my cash flow makes it easy for me to resist.

Hmmmm, I'm single again... Maybe I need to peruse the used firearms section and pick me up a G19 or a 17 maybe even a 43. It could solve all my problems!

Go to the glock forum have a "meat" and greet. Wear glock gear say glock and a random number and the hj's will go to flying. I have a glock 1 its the one Mr glock shot the first time in 1999 when he first got started. You won't finish that sentence without a hj. Its all dudes thats the down side. Unless you like that type of thing.

Meh, Grocks. Don't love them. Weird grip dangle. Blocky. Ugly. Basically the Honda Civic of guns (which to some that have owned civics will understand this is actually high praise).
Somehow I ended up with two with a 3rd hopefully coming soon.

I actually only own 5 handguns. 2 CZ's, a Mark3 .22, and two Grocks, a 19 and 42. I shot the crap out of my first CZ, a 75B that I learned a lot on. Many tens of thousands of rounds. I then bought an even nicer and spendier CZ, which is soooo sweet! Man it kicks a$$. I love it dearly. It's likely my favorite possession. Trust me on this: if you owned either of these CZ's, the Grocks would never make it out of the range bag. I hardly shoot my Grocks at all, and must kinda make myself practice with them.

But man, the little Glock 19 can hold it's own. What an amazing little gun. The thing about the Glock 19 is that it is a perfect storm of firearm winning. It's greater than the sum of it's parts. If you can only have one gun, this is the gun to have.
The little G42 is the best bug gun I have tried by a very very large margin. It's a little bigger than most .380's, but it's ten times the gun. Nothing I have seen or used has even come close to its performance. I feel the same about the 43.

So, CZ's for fun, and Glocks when my life might be on the line. In my house: Glocks are both loaded and holstered. The CZ's are in the safe unloaded patiently waiting for good range time and matches. But it's the Grocks that have sheepdog duty, watching over the fold, 24/7.

There are plenty of other good choices, but I have come to respect Glock. Marvelous tools. I have a 19 & a 42. I hope to pick up a 43 this week. Heck, I would love to have a 17 and a 34 to round out my Grock collection in 9mm! Maybe even shoot a match or two with them. They even get along with the CZ's.

Never liked Glocks even thou I recognize their reliablity. Got a G19 at home but prefer my 1911. Just my 1911 needs a new Millet Front Sight (80s slide done and Mag-naported). When down range can't wait to turn in the Glock and draw out a 80 yr old gun. I was a SOCOM armorer, Remington Rand was made in 44' and picture taken Dec 14'. Now to get those guns to CMP!
