So, I have purchased my first gun. I have now shot said gun at the range (holy crap it’s snappy). Looking to make slight, yet impactful modifications. Hubby (@Pynghunter) feels sights are the next move. His recommendation is Trijicon HD XR night sights. He has looked down them and really liked them.

Soooo, because I joined this lovely place for as many opinions as my brain can possibly handle, I figure I’ll throw it out there.

Thoughts? Recommendations? Thanks!

I was JUST looking at Ameriglo sights. Definitely a bit better price tag. And has the rounded rear sight...I like that

I was introduced to that rear u-notch sight on a Talo edition G43 I bought a few years ago. I don’t know if it's the sights or the gun, but it shoots like a much larger gun. It’s like it has magical powers.

In fact, I not only put them on the G43, and G48 (both similar to yours) but a full sized G 17.

I can send you the specific part numbers if you get interested.

Another plus 1 for the Ameriglo Tritium with lime green front. I have a mix of the Trijicon HD and Ameriglo several different pistols. I have come to prefer the Ameriglo, and the cost difference doesn't hurt either.

I have whatever Ameriglo model comes on the Glocks and they work great.

After sights the next thing you need for your 43X are some Shield Arms S15 mags. Those things are awesome.

Got you beat on that one, already ordered one. Though, they are on backorder.

Didn’t know that there were glocks that came with Ameriglo sights! Still trying to figure out the difference between fiber optics and other glowing sights

Hmmm. Mixing up brands. Buying just the front or just the rear sight and then mix/match? Is there a particular variation you like best?

I think Joe is saying he’s running Trijicons on some and Ameriglos on others.

It’s good to match the front sight with the rear, particularly for elevation so you don't shoot high or low, because windage (right/left) is all you can adjust for.

Ahh, that would make much better sense. Thanks for the clarification.

Sorry, I should have been more descriptive. I have not mixed and matched sights, they are complete Trijicon and Ameriglo brand sets on different pistols. A couple of the guns I bought used, and I kept whatever sights were on them. I bought one new set of Trijicon HD and put them on one of my Glocks. Then I bought another used pistol with the Ameriglo sights. After that, I have only bought Ameriglo.

The last couple of Glocks I've purchased, I just put Glock OEM 3 dot night sights on them and I like it. They are cheaper as well. Just to give you another option.
I like the 3 dot system in general, shoot it well.

Thanks. Just looked at (what I believe) is them. Are they a squared off rear sight? I’m guessing the advantage is leveling off the three dots?

i like ameriglo as well. the night sight is bright and that big orange dot is easy for my eyes to pick up fast, although i do believe in a self defense situation the sights are not going to be my main point of focus. Maybe im wrong. Hopefully i never find out, but either way the big bright dot with the night sight inside it is comforting. FWIW, I have the plain black rear by Hackathorn and i like it

Yes. I don't know why but I tend to shoot better with the three dot vs. stock or blacked out rear sites. Might be just because that is what I'm used to.

Get the ameriglo sights I like the hackathorn version.

I have the Hackthorns on 2 Glocks, 43&19, and the I-dot on a 42. I like the value of the Ameriglo. Although, imo, the Triji's are very nice.

Night Fision.
And if you look on their Instagram, they have a coupon code this weekend that gives you 17.76 % off.

Night Fision is one haven’t seen, will have to check that out.

Thanks for all the recommendations! I have a lot to mull over for sure.

Its a lot to mull over. Its ok if you don't get the right set the first time, it's like holsters, you'll eventually have a box of ones that didn't work out.

Trigger time still outweighs the perfect gear setup and with more trigger time, you'll understand what gear works for you better anyway.

isn’t that the truth! Went to the range last night and tonight. I’m shooting low and to the left (mostly low, though). I’ve been told I’m anticipating the shot and that what is occurring very common. Common or not it’s frustrating!!! When I look at a cluster perfectly where it should be....just NOT where I was aiming

I’ve also noticed that I don’t like the white dots, doesn’t give enough contrast. So, I can see how a different (neon) color helps catch that front sight easier.

We already have the obligatory box of holsters here!!!! Hoping we can get this right the first time!!!!

Wanted to give an update. Ended up getting Ameriglo Tritium I-Dot sights. Got them installed and went up to the range tonight. I like them. Love the bright orange front sight. Much easier to spot than the white Glock dot. Thanks for all the recommendations.

May have to try these out myself!

Congrats! Looks good.

I got familiar with the three dot system years ago, and I don't want to change. I have TruGlo Night Sights for my G43X. Found them for $59.89, shipped. And, they are the brightest sights I have ever used. Easy to see in daylight also.

I'm the queen of low left....it's improved a lot, but it creeps in sometimes. Just keep shooting.

Headed to a class tonight that I will hopefully get some help and instruction. Hoping to get some guidance so I don’t continue some bad habits I don’t even know I’m doing! :D

My sister has the low left disease. She is anticipating the shot and snatching at the trigger. When I get her to slow down, and let the shot surprise her, it goes away.
