Glock to Release 10 Round, G43X Pistol

I think the G43 will do for me. So probably pass on the G43X.
But I am interested to perhaps add the G48 to the stable.

Nice idea, but I dont think it'll be quite as nice as the P365.
Compared a G34 to the P365 yesterday, the standard 43 was still larger than the 365, so im curious how much bigger it'll be with a double stack

I may not be a Glock fanboy, but I am definitely a Glock 43 fanboy. Mine has near mystical powers to ride around in my pocket for a month or so, be pulled out at the range and put rounds right on target much better than many other larger pistols I've owned.

Once the 43x is out long enough to work out the bugs, and I can find some sights like the Talo edition 43, I'll be procuring one.

...or, this could just be an emotional outburst at something new and shiny.
After all, I haven't bought any new guns in a while.

I like the 43 but the factory trigger sucks. I tried a new connector hoping for some improvement but it was just a mild change. My Glock 19 OEM triggers are great.

The Glock will be free of all the issues that plague Sig guns :p

I bought a new G19 two years ago and the factory trigger was terrible and heavy. Took a lot of persuading with a spring, connector, and polishing just to get it to the advertised 5lbs.
Out of the box my G43's trigger was just as good as my new G34, and better than other Glocks. They apparently aren't consistent.

Both of my 19s are Gen 3. I compared them to some aftermarket trigger a friend had in his Gen 4 and my daily carry was better and my “backup” one was on par with it

I would have to agree on the inconsistency statement

Looks stupid... Who are these people who want short barreled, large large gripped pistols?

I'm with ya man. I just couldn't get on board with the G19x or G45 models. Why sacrifice barrel length? I've known guys to do the reverse, chop the grip on a G17 to the size of a G19. Maintaining the full length slide and barrel but getting the concealabilty of a G19 grip. The grip is the most difficuly part to conceal. So the G19x and the G45 just do not make sense to ME. Now it seems like quite a few others folks dig it so rock on!

I have been know to make fun of somebody for buying the tiny G26 because they wanted something concealable. Just to turn around and carry it with a silly extra long mag extension on it. Defeating the purpose of a sub-compact pistol. At that point you should just carry a dam full size!

New Glock, same plastic sight placeholders...same blocky trigger guard that needs a dremel to fit right. Pass for now. Besides...if it came out today itd be November before we coukd get our hands on one. At least Glock is responding to market forces. Wonder whats keeping S&W from following suit?

Meh...I might be interested in the 43x at a decent price, but the 2 tone color scheme has got to go. Unless they eventually come in all black, I’m not interested at all.

Both the new single stack Glocks seem like devolution to me. I carry my G19 size M&P 2.0c inside the waist band but my ~G43 size Shield is a whole lot easier to hide. The G43X looks like the worst of both to me. Less ammo and harder to hide but I might see it differently from CT, NY,MA,CA etc.

Having watched both of Sootch00's videos, I believe Glock has two homeruns here. Obviously the G48 will be desirable in slave states with 10 round mag limits...and the thiner profile will help concealed carry. I think the G43X will be a far better seller than the Sig P365. Glock homers will line up for it.
I'll probably get a G43X just to play with in IDPA matches.
It'll have to be real special to replace my Shield though.

Edited to add...by homerun Im talking sales numbers. With their inflated prices, they'll make a killing off these guns.
Personally I'm more interested in the CZP10S thats about to come out.

I've been carrying my Gen 4 19 since I got it, it's easier to carry than my Shield, which has been in the safe. If I can't carry my 19, I need something smaller than the new offerings. I bought my wife a 365...small gun, shoots like a large gun.

Glock made a Khar.

Except for that entire reliability leap year
And that's why I can't stay with the Sig. Say what you want about the Glocks, they just go bang when you need them to. Piece of mind is a valuable thing.

In the end its all about the holster. I have multiple Shield holsters...maybe 6 or more. 1 fits better than all the others. I have 1 Chief Jason holster for a G19, it fits a G19, G26, and Czp10c better than many of my Shield holsters with the smaller Shield. Sometimes it pays to shop around. The bad part is paying 70$ plus to find out a holster just won't work.

Am I the only one that thinks it's very strange that they're releasing this information just a few days before the SHOT Show?

They should have made these 20 years ago but I will wait for black.

Right? Late to the party. Should have come out when the first slim glocks came out.

And why the stupid silver slide? I prefer my pistol not to be shiny and reflective, thanks...

I just did some figuring between the specs Glock sent me today and my 43 & 19...

So the 48 is virtually identical dimensionally to the G19 but 1/4" narrower in the grip and about 3/16" narrower in the slide...

What's the point? The 43 is a substantially smaller gun in every dimension. That's the only reason it's a worthwhile trade-off in capacity. I'm not giving up 50% of my magazine capacity for maybe a ¼". Most people's holsters account for that...

For appendix carry, I think the 43x might actually be useful after taking a second look. For 3-4 o'clock, the grip kills the other dimension advantages for me...

Oh yeah, I do like that they melted the muzzle end of the slides like the 26/27...

People keep saying it's great for people living in the Communist states but in those states it's nearly impossible to get carry permits anyway so i don't get it?

I think it was very thoughtful of Glock to ensure that the new mags would not fit in a 43 so that all of the companies that are making mag extensions for the 43 would be still be able to sell them.

Probably the most annoying part. The beauty of Glock is parts interchangeablility. They've been ruining that lately... I'd be more interested if the mags were the same...

Starting to wonder if Glock is taking marketing tips from Apple.

I'd go with the 48, over the 43x being it's the same frame. Longer barrel is always better and more fun to shoot. I like the two tone also and I can get this for under $400. But with my 19 slide at 1" thick, not sure if it's worth it to get the 48 just because it's got a 0.8" slide thickness.

that's a lot of money to get the same gun that holds five less rounds and is 2 tenths of an inch thinner
