Not a damn thing will be done.
Nice gesture but nothing will come of it.
I would have to assume they wrote in protections for the elite.
He doesn’t own guns. What does he care?
None of these are really the point. EDIT: though completely true.

The point is to spread this far & wide so the ignorant and those on the fence can see both the double standard/hypocrisy and ineffectiveness of a bogus law.

Am I the only one who thinks we may be playing with fire here?

Ol Chucky, as much as a scumbag as he is, never exactly threatened violence (which maybe makes this only a Bic lighter) and not exactly sure how it would be proven based on that very limited, broad verbiage statement.

That being said, if this somehow worked out to be legit, we are setting a precedent where someone saying 'you will pay the price' is considered a legitimate threat of violent action. Is that actually what we want to have happen here? 90% of posters on this forum would have their firearms taken away tomorrow, in fact, 90% of the country would.

I can think of far better examples of actual threats of violence to slap red flags on (people who have made threats to gun owners, people simply being on the right politically, etc etc). For ex. I believe there is someone high in the ranks of mothers against guns or mayors against illegal guns or some org like that who has said "I hope every NRA member gets murdered" lol. Like, literally wishing millions of people death simply for belonging to a lobby that protects a constitutional right. That crazy b!t$ deserves legitimate red flag (but then you also 'legitimize' the red flag).

I'd guess you'd be in the minority. Also, is there really any point in worrying how someone may abuse a particular law when the law itself is an affront the US Constitution?

You do realize that red flags can also be triggered by word of mouth, and not necessarily threats made in public, right?

I doubt anyone here or at GOA actually expected the thing with CS to get anywhere; you're over-analyzing this. As someone posted above, the point was to demonstrate what a sham the law is. BTW, CS did't just say they would pay the price, he also said that they wouldn't know what hit them.

So it appears you have no problem with violating the 2nd, 4th and 5th amendments,.... hmmm.

Saying "legitimate red flag" is an oxymoron BTW.

I seem to remember hearing something about legislators being granted some level of immunity from arrest so the laws could not be used by the opposition to harass the legislators or detain them so they miss critical votes. Is that true? If it is, would that apply in such situations.

Okay.

Red #1: yes, I am concerned about how a particular law is and/or could be abused.

red line #2: to my knowledge that is not a component of this case.

red line #3: Did you read? and if you did, did you do so in the context of what you are replying to? I am not the one implying there's no issue violating the 2nd, 4th and 5th amendment (we can throw the 14th in while we are at it too...), the GOA would be the one going down that path, or "appearing to have no problem", to use your words.

While you're playing tantrum, they're playing multi-dimensional politics. That is a game bound to be lost. I hope GOA has a plan, not just theatrics.

So do you agree with red flag laws?

I waited on line for a half hour to ask Linseed Graham about his connection with the RFL he wants for S.C. Never got to ask!!!
I would give a lot to have the privilege of observing you and Miz Lindsey locked in a room together. :D

I do believe Chucky does have a NY pistol permit. Not so easy to get. I take him for a revolver guy. But the Israeli chauffeur might have a gun...

Ok just wondering. Because when you say, "I can think of far better examples of actual threats of violence to slap red flags on", it sounded like you supported them to some degree.

Nah, I just mean if we gonna attempt to use their weapon against them (which I think is plyig with fire as it potentially legitimizes the law AND sets precedent for its use) then there’s cases that are more than pie in the sky hopes, because the most violent reactionaries out there are liberals. Unfortunately, CS is not ACTUALLY one of them. We all know what he meant, just as when we say the same things at home, at work, at...
