I think back to Tommy Boy, Caddy shack, ground hogs day, The mask, Dumb and Dumber, dodge ball, old school, wedding crashers. What are some more recent comedies that are really great movies that you repeat and laugh at over and over. It's hard to believe that the greats have gotten so old. I need an newer not super crude movie to watch.

The older ones are much better than the new crap that's out there.

My favorite was and still is "Blazing Saddles", or anything by Mel Brooks.
If you have never seen it and can find it anywhere watch Mel Brook's "When Women Had Tails" it's one of his first.

Not super crude? Newer?

Sorry, but I am not going to be of much help here.

Stripes, Blues Brothers, Idiocracy, Office Space,

Have you noticed the new movies have to say the F word 10-15 times for no reason. Not that I care but it is help full for the family not to hear all of it.

Yes, I got ya.. I honestly don't even bother with the newer crap.

jebus, I'm sounding like my grandfather now..

Newer comedy movies? One that I find gets funnier every time I see it is The Fifth Element. It's what, though, 15-20 years old now.

The Big Bus, Airplane, Spaceballs and Dutch, The Jerk, Planes, trains & automobiles.

Movies do not have to be laced with profanity to be good. Anyone remember the Golden Age of cinema and all?

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World is one of my faves. All the Jerry Lewis movies. Abbott & Costello. Mel Brooks, anything with or by Mel Brooks. Blazing Saddles is one of the best movies, ever.

Mid-70s-mid-80s were comedy gold: Stripes, Animal House, Caddyshack, Blues Brothers, Uncle Buck, Planes, Train, and Automobiles, Summer Rental, Vacation (most of them), anything with Richard Pryor.

So our favorite TV show is the flash and it's got some language in it. my daughter is 11 and my wife is like 12 in maturity so the more slap stick humor is great. But have you noticed almost all comedy's have went totally rated R like baywatch and Chips. I mean Chips could have been funny without all the Arse eating talk. I thought it was Ok for adults but still. I thought night school with Kevin heart was pretty funny as well and not totally bad. I may have to get a subscription to angel vid to start watching stuff.

Where's Popa, Raising Arizona, The Survivors to name a few. Be warned, some take offense at The Survivors.

Slap Shot.

I know it's not new and it is plenty crude, but that's funny right there!

Most of these movies are 10 or more years old. There's really not to many good comedies anymore.

Tropic Thunder
Step Brothers
Land of the Lost
The Other Guys
Pineapple Express
This is the End
Talladega Nights
Semi Pro
40 Year Old Virgin
Old School
Shaun of the Dead
Superbad
Team America World Police
Anchorman
The Hangover
Knocked Up
Get Him to the Greek
The Campaign
Elf
Grandmas Boy
Pineapple Express

I agree with those that post Blazing Saddles and some of the others from ‘60’s-‘80’s. The last comedy that had me truly laughing was The Big Lebowski and now it’s over 20 years old.

Everything old that I love has already been mentioned except for the Monty Python films Holy Grail and Meaning of Life.

The only semi-recent things that I've seen were Deadpool and The Lego Movie.

Not familiar with the first but life would not be complete without the other two.
Wheres Papa is a Jewish comedy about two sons that promise their father on his deathbed they would never place their mother in a home; George Segal plays the bachelor that lives at home with the mother played by Ruth Gordon. Almost forgot a great Southern comedy is Daddy and Them, Andy Griffith and Billy Bob Thornton team up to make a movie that only folks from the South will understand.

One of the sweetest comedies in recent memory for me is "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles". I know it's been mentioned several times, but that strong element of sweetness makes it special to me.
