GRNC sent out an email about the Democrats latest efforts to us a Discharge Petition to enact ERPO and long gun licensing. GRNC requested we email our Republican representatives this letter:

It has come to my attention that the Democrats are pushing a Discharge Petition for unconstitutional gun confiscation orders and long gun licensing. They of course use Orwellian sugar-coated language to cover for their gun-grabber intent. Laughable referring to measures that will endanger people as ‘gun safety’.

Anti-liberty Leftists are calling the confiscation of property without due process an ‘ERPO’. While they also want to expand a Jim Crow law to include long guns. A law the Republicans just voted to repeal.

Under no circumstances are you to even consider signing onto this anti-civil rights abomination.

I will be monitoring this issue through Grass Roots North Carolina legislative alerts.

I am a gun owner, NRA member and staunch supporter of the Second Amendment. You don't have anything to worry about from me nor do I believe you have much to worry about from any Republican. I would suggest you concentrate on the Democrats. They deserve the last two lines of your form letter.

Was not nearly impressed with the non-committal answer from Re. Jason Saine:


Thank you for contacting Representative Saine about this issue. He values any input from his constituents and is thankful for you taking the time to contact our office with your concerns.

Rep. Saine has read through your email along with others expressing the same concern and he understands your position on the issue. When considering this bill he will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind. He will always make every effort to do what is in the best interest of the residents of district 97.

On the topic of guns, Rep. Saine will always vote to protect your Second Amendment rights.

Thank you once again for your input and for your concern for your state's future. If there are any other issues that you would like to discuss we would certainly appreciate hearing from you again. Please do not hesitate to contact our office if we can help you with anything in the future.

I'm not a fan of the La Pierre regime and refuse to give NRA any additional $.

Unfortunately, as an instructor, I must maintain my membership.
