Great Song From The Early '70's

This one blew my mind the first time I heard it. One of my dad's friends had one of those stereo egg chairs back when & I would crank the hell out of this.

.

Pink Floyd still wins the thread but this is a most excellent blast from the past.

It's like you guys are channeling 95.7 out of Charlotte. I listen to most of this at work. Not old enough to remember it, just old enough to appreciate it.

I was born in '69 & grew up with this music. As a teenager in the '80's, playing guitar & running with an older crowd, I was way more into Zeppelin, Hendrix, Cream, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple & the like than whatever was on the radio.

A mellow song but still a great one from that time:

Another Steely Dan great:

Yet another great Steely Dan song:

Time to hit the sack. Happy Independence Day everyone! Stay safe and have fun.

I was just now closing out my browser tabs before going to bed when I saw this. I had to log back in to post it since it ranks up there with Honky Tonk Women as one of my favorite Stones tunes.

Here's one whose title describes my situation at the current moment.:D

Heh! I was just going to post this as my official "Navy" song!

I suspect anybody with service time would understand!

"I've got too much time on my hands, so take it away, take it away from me"

The 70's songs also allowed us to slow things down a little...………...here's Billy Joel from 1973

The Chi-Lites…….1972

I gotta post some more Stones:

I learned to play the acoustic intro to this when I was on three weeks disciplinary probation in college. It was basically dorm arrest. In fact, I taught myself more songs those three weeks than the previous decade, lol.
