Ok guys. I got my new 6.5 Grendel out today. The first 20 rounds were good. I used Hornady black 123 eld match. Then I switched to federal fusion. It would fire 2 rounds then the trigger would not reset. The bolt was all the way forward. I used the assest and it didn't move. The gas block is still tight. Using a 20" barrel with rifle length gas. Standard buffer and spring.

I went back to the Hornady but it still doing the same thing. Brass looks good.

The trigger is a saber trigger. I had to send the first one back because it would go full auto. I'm thinking it's the trigger again.

I did have one jam where the old brass was not all the way removed from the chamber. Not sure if I caused it some how as it was the only one.

Any suggestions??? I was hoping to use this rifle to deer hunt with.

Yes it dry fires fine. Passes all checks on a bench.

@nchunt101 yes..... If I was thinking I would have switched it when I was at the range as I had my 223 SPR with me.... Lol I will try it tomorrow.

This may be a silly question but are you sure the bolt was all the way forward? I know sometimes it is hard to tell if its just a bit out of battery. If it was jammed up then the trigger may not reset causing your problem. If it bench test fine that is perplexing.

Well the last trigger that they replaced bench tested fine but would go full auto when firing. I'm pretty sure the BCG was all the way forward. Hitting the forward assist would not move the BCG but it would go backwards just fine when you pulled the charging handle.

I can't find the cheap wolf ammo local so it looks like I will testing function with the Hornady.... $23 a box sucks! Lol

Lol yeah that sucks Check out www.outdoorlimited.com they’re great for ammo. Sounds like those triggers are junk I’d try something milspec out of another lower and see.

Put a box of the Hornady through it this morning on my SPR lower ( RRA National match varmint trigger) with no issues. Function was 100%. Looks like it's the trigger..... Lol guess I'm getting a new trigger ordered next payday.

I use the LaRue MBT. It’s well worth it.

I'd probably install the FCG in another lower just to be sure the receiver isn't the problem.
If it fails that I'd be looking for a refund.

To be honest I will be buying another lower. Probably a Anderson. The lower it's using is a Tennessee poly lower that I had to sand to get it to fit.

There are some really good deals out there right now on quality lowers. Not that anything is wrong with an Anderson but for a small amount more you can get a better one. Aero comes to mind
