GREYHOUND (movie)

Man that actually looks good! I think I’m going to have to break my moratorium against theaters and go see it On the big screen!

That does look awesome!

Thanks

Can't wait!!

Could have a CFF watch party after release on DVD or if those interested in seeing it at the movie theater.

Ironic: I was just thinking about the upcoming “Masters of the Air” documentary from Hanks/Spielberg. I noted that they still haven’t done a Navy and/or sub version of the war. Guess this fills the void.

Went looking for the "real" story, but soon realized "inspired by actual events" means it's not based on actual events.

Originally scheduled to have opened this weekend.

Now coming to Apple TV+ on 7/10/20.

June is going to be a good month for movies, this movie and top gun. That will be 2 dates with the wife,
Oh how wrong this man was. We all were. Who would have thought just days later the whole state went bonkers. State. Country. World.

Looks like he's channeling his inner Mel Gibson (Hal Moore).

Oh yes, I will watch it. (Just not in a theater.)

I saw the preview as a YouTube ad and watched the whole 2:35 or so. It does look great, but since I don't have Apple TV I'll have to catch it some other way one day.
They’ve had a 7-day trial in the past. That’s how we watched the Beastie Boys documentary.

My review: meh, CGI was mediocre, kinda surprised it was as short as it was, not the epic movie I’d hoped for

My wife’s review: (explaining why she got up halfway through to wash some dishes, but she can still see the TV) I didn’t get it, all it was was Tom Hanks walking back and forth giving commands

:D

It was.worth.watching once.
As bw stated, a lot of Tom Hanks pacing the bridge giving commands.
Word is Tom Hanks was infuriated by the fact this didn't go to theater release but straight to streaming service.

I watched it last night with the family. I really enjoyed it. As an ex-Navy guy I got a lot more out of it than everyone else. I think the reason is I understood more of the battle scenes (I too was on a Destroyer/sub chaser/torpedo catcher) and found myself having to explain a lot of it to them. Not that I minded. :) If you like that type of film you'll enjoy it. It's pretty accurate from a Naval perspective. Not a clue on the historical accuracy.

Watched it last night, enjoyed it. Nearly Zero character development.
