Tasked with bringing an appetizer to my in laws for Thanksgiving dinner Friday. Wanted to do something with some ground venison I have. Not really much of a cook but was thinking of mini meat balls wrapped in bacon with a bourbon sauce

Recipe is here.

Anyone made something like this? Any tips for making it? Besides this what else can I do with my ground venison that might be good?

A crock pot full of bbq meatballs.

I'll have to dig out the recipe for the sauce, but if you make those meatballs in your link, minus the bacon, you can toss them in a crock pot of your favorite bbq sauce and slow cook them for a while before serving them.

Turned out great. Made about 40 of them and almost all were gone at the end of the night. Everyone loved them. I even had my sister in law who doesn't eat meat often try them. They want me to make them every year now going forward! Highly highly recommend to give these a try

Looks awesome. If I was going to create something I'd saute with some hot paprika and garlic. Then use that to stuff some mushrooms and cover with a light layer of cheese. Cook and serve.

I didn't feel like typing it all out. Let's see how this works.

ETA: Of course, we use venison. Not ground beef.
