I have carried a gun of one kind or another for about 20 years. Most of the time, I use a high quality leather gun belt. They are sturdy. But, they either fit perfect or are just a little off because of belt hole spacing. Too much slop in the belt is uncomfortable and causes printing. Too tight is also uncomfortable.

Today, I bought one of those smooth adjusting, reinforced nylon material belts . Holy crap...it's a lot better. tried it with a few different guns. Can get a perfect fit each time. Probably hanging up the leather gun belts for good. Well, except the rare occasion where the dress code is formal and belt is visible.

When that one wears out in a couple of years upgrade to an awesome leather one from @gunbelt.

When that one wears out it won't be your problem you'll have already died and passed it down. Lol.

I've had leather gun belts from The Beltman last more than 10 years...and still going. The problem is precision fit. If Gunbelt has one that is infinitely adjustable then I would consider it. Getting the exact fit for IWB J frame, K frame, Glock 19, etc...it difficult with belt holes.

Not infinitely adjustable, but I'd bet he could punch more holes closer together if you really wanted...instead of the 1" apart holes. Dunno.

I do know that when I bought my first two Fat Boy belts, I immediately sold my two Beltman belts. :D

To preface my post I'll say that as far as style, class, fit and finish, and all around awesomeness Fatboy belts win the race every single time.

However, if you are wanting something with more customizable sizing then I recommend the Trakline belts. I purchased one a while back on a whim and I have really enjoyed it. It has a ratchet system that my large girth has put to the test. It adjusts in very small, quarter inch I think, increments.

That looks like an interesting solution but whoever wrote the description of leather types in their FAQs hasn't a clue. How thick is the leather?

Not very. It's like a standard dress belt but with a reinforced core. Mine has held up well, and the reviews I have read seem solid.

It doesn't have the craftsmanship or quality of a Fatboy, no where close. But it works.

Okie Dokie, thanks.

I would not trade any of my @gunbelt belts. Though I don't wear clothing(dresses) that is amenable them on a daily basis, these are the best I have ever used.

Eliminates the issue of choosing between strangle and droop.

I was on the fence about ordering a Fat Boy belt as I wasn't sure I would like the buckle-less look. I finally broke down and ordered one about a month ago. It took a little getting used to, but I wear it everyday now. Absolutely love the clasp system. Well worth the money!

What gets me is that I ordered my two over two years ago and they are just now kinda worn in. And in that time I hear Curt has enhanced his design, but my old ones are still fine...it's like a gen 3 v gen 4 Glock...I want the gen 4, but my 3 has barely gotten the grease out.

One of the main things that you get with a Fat Boy belt that you don't with other belts, you will eventually get a funny bathroom story to tell others. Hilarity will result.

Today, I bought one of those smooth adjusting, reinforced nylon material belts . Holy crap...it's a lot better. tried it with a few different guns. Can get a perfect fit each time.

Mind sharing which one you bought?
Thanks!

I wear simple, sturdy gunbelts from Wild Bill's Concealment Leather and Simply Rugged. They work great.
I'm glad someone started this thread...All too often the importance of the gunbelt is over looked. I see people buy excellent holsters, only to place them on s--t belts.
A quality holster has to be mated to a quality belt, otherwise one gets less than satisfactory results.

Which Nylon Belt did you buy? I have the Wilderness Instructor belt and it works great.

If it involves a desperate clench while rifling through a toolbox while 10% of your brain is yelling JUST CUT IT OFF! I've been there.

I have not seen Fatboy belts before this thread. The buckeless system looks interesting. I might have to check one out.

I have had a few belts over the years. Starting with a cheap Aker moving to a Beltman belt and have not ended up with AG Custom leather http://agcustomgunleather.com and Milt Sparks http://www.miltsparks.com/index.php .

Both are high quality belts that will most likely outlast me.

I vote that owning a Fatboy belt be mandatory

I would but I just can't get over not having a (traditional) buckle of some sort. Beltman and Wilderness Instructor are the only belts I own

Man, your solution was so simple it was staring you in the eyes!

If it's too loose, you need to add an IWB on the opposite side.

If it's too tight, you need to loosen up your belt a notch and add an IWB to the other side!

TA-DAH!

You're welcome!

It has a buckle, just an inverted one.

I just got my own Fatboy belt. Been wearing it constantly since and it's like an old friend. Felt great right off the bat.

Have several gun belts. I use a two piece for competition. Have several others I have bought over the years, 5.11 etc, for daily use.
But I don't see them coming out very often. This FB outperforms them pretty much everywhere. Comfort, stiffness, weight bearing.

Not having a buckle that digs in is a huge bonus. Plus the handmade feel just appeals to me. Stupid of me to have waited so long.

Now there's a man with a brain!

Fatboy belts are TSA friendly. You don't have to remove it to get through the Automatic Privacy Violator 2000 at the checkpoint.

I think this Fatboy needs a Fat boy belt lol
Took you long enough. I’ve got 3 or 4. And a couple holsters, and maybe one of his new wallets....

Geezer, this is your fault since you brought it up.
Here's my Fat Boy Belt Bathroom Story:

Preface: last year, i was driving to Brevard, NC to see the Eclipse while wearing a Fat Boy.
Plot: pulled in to a rest stop off of I-40 with an IWB J-Frame providing the pressure.
Epilogue: a J-frame can bounce.

(the above story recounts user error. FBB is in no way responsible.)

I've 2 1.25" Beltman belts and really like them. The both have the 3/4" hole spacing, it makes a big difference.
I WISH I could find a business type buckle that wouldn't bend the belt.

Have literally not worn another belt since getting this.

Aside from matches that I wear the two piece. But I have worn the FB for certain simple matches that don't require a ton of stuff on it.
