Coming soon to a state or country near you. New Zealand police destroy guns. But, I didn't see any receivers being damaged.

I really don’t even think it needs to be said here, but what exactly is this supposed to accomplish? You’re not - and surely they don’t expect to see - gangbangers, terrorists, and psychopaths filling in online forms and waiting in line to put their weapons into this “cruncher.” This is just a feel-good PR show.

What’s the taxpayer cost of this program?

What are the expectations in terms of reduced crime?

I'm anxiously awaiting a significant increase in property taxes to pay for a brilliant program like this. The only thing worse than supporting my gun-buying habit would be paying for other peoples' guns to be destroyed.

And who are the people who are ineligible to receive compensation???

New Zealand has had firearm registration for some time now, since the 1960s I believe. No 2nd Amendment.

Also, New Zealand has about the same population as South Carolina. It has a habitable land size about 80% larger than SC, with a density of habitable land mass of about half that of SC. Nothing about NZ compares to the US in totality.

From a brief reading about the new buy back law, there will be exemptions for certain uses. I bet ranchers and sport shooters will be able to apply for exemptions.

I wonder if we will see the Kiwis rise up and take their country back from the gun grabbers?

I have thought of doing a gun buyback program my self. Set up a table, have $100 gift cards to Amazon and advertise the hell out of it on FB and such.

All I need is an FFL and its a legit "Gun Show" because of its public advertisement.

Then go to the A&D book, and off to Arms list I go with a minimum price of $150 on each item......

Six security guards at each event? Really, do they expect an uprising?

With only six present, a determined group of probably three or four could easily liberate the entire inventory, methinks.....
