Since we’ve moved, my safes are currently occupying my dad’s house with no plans to move them out, gave one to him and one to my brother. So I’m in the market for a new one.

I was looking at some large safes, then the thought occurred, why not just get 2 or 3 smaller (48 gun) safes as before? So now I’m back and forth. It was kinda nice to keep my wood and blued stuff separate from the evil plastic and aluminum.

I’ve got plenty of room for whatever I decide, no issue with getting them in the house. But do I want a big safe? Money wise is about a draw either way.

What say ye?

Sounds like a good time to upgrade to a vault.

Had actually considered this. We have a spare bedroom that would work great for this purpose (master closet butts up to it) but the wife has designated the majority of it for walk in closet….

Tell her that's fine, just don't forget the combination.

My goal is reduce, not increase. What good is 2 safes of guns if nobody is ready to defend what Joe has taken of liberty and justice? I ain’t arming these sissy neighbors. Ammo is king, not collections.

Why not increase both? I can't think of a scenario where too many guns - or a collection - is a bad thing.

I’d go for several “less big” if it were me. One giant would take up a ton of real estate in whatever room it ends up in, leaving less room for activities. A handful can be spread out more to make more useable space. Even if it’s a mostly dedicated area, more floor space is the winning bet to me.

My future plans are to focus on handguns and have two go-to rifles which will allow me to, hopefully, get a safe small enough that I can conceal it in my house. I hate having people come over and there's a giant safe in the corner.
Wrong kind of friends or relatives. If I have to worry about if I can trust you, you don’t pass the threshhold.

I try not to become best friends with the plumbers, electricians, or other handymen that may come to my house. I assume they want a strictly financial relationship beyond the required small talk and I try to respect that.

If you’re looking small/medium Tractor Supply has their Winchester 20 gun for $349. Looks like it’s a couple inches too big for the space I got unfortunately.
