Netflix. Buddy told me about it today. Stars Karen Gillan (Nubula in MCU movies & the lead girl in the recent Jumanji movies). Supposed to be a shoot-em-up. He says it’s watchable but not great, and I just started it. Anybody seen it?

also has Paul Giamatti and Angela Bassett.

Carla Guigino is pushing 50 now, just saying.
Still looks good to me. I'm older than her by 5+ years so maybe it's my eyesight going, let me switch to my computer glasses.

I'll just say I watched every Spy Kids movie mainly because she was in it, lol.

Watched today, director of this is clearly a huge fan of Quentin Tarantino. The movie has the same shooting style of Kill Bill including the set lightning, action and driving scene approach and clothing. The librarian character played by Angela Basset is clearly channeling Ving Rhames Marcellus Wallace character from pulp fiction.

They threw in a bit of John Wick with the diner instead of the continental hotel as a safe zone for bad guys and some Matrix bullet time slowed action.

It’s squarely in the female empowerment genre which isn’t targeted at me, but thought it was enjoyable. I wouldn’t pay to see it in a theater, but definitely would watch it on Netflix (where it’s hosted). If somebody else wanted to see it, I’d watch again without complaint.

My first thought was, "is she still that hot?"
In this one not so much. She (and Angela basset and Michelle Yeoh) is dressed from hair down to the ground as old lady librarians. They all play minor roles in this.

Entertaining enough. I really enjoyed the scene which was John Wick meets Human Fall Flat lol

Totally unbelievable and over the top but yet somehow thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable.

We liked it.

I thought about it, but cant bring myself to watch it.
I am a Michelle Yeoh fan, though.
