Anyone near Mebane/Efland do machining? I damaged some threads while removing a screw with an "e-z-out." The hole may need to be redrilled to a slightly larger size and retapped. Someone recommended a guy to me, but he is an hour away which I am assuming would eat up half a day, at least, while i wait for him to do the work then drive back.

Not sure if this is in their wheelhouse, but Maverick Gun works opened not too long ago in Mebane (right next to NC Jelly Doughnuts)

Not trying to be funny but, is George Chockley still running Bullseye out on Lynch Store Rd? I'm not even sure if he's still around. I mean, he was long in the tooth a while back! You could give Double H in Caswell County a try as well.

I don't think Bullseye is doing much anymore. They had a guy coming once a week at one time, but they have no gunsmith now. I don't think his family runs it anymore for the most part. I think they only do CCW classes there now.

I will try Maverick. I was unaware they existed. thanks for the tip.

George Chockley died a few years ago, drowned at the beach. I have used Jerry Saunders ( JS Gunsmithing) and have been satisfied with his work. He is in Northern Alamance County, way up Pagetown Road near the Caswell line.

Wow, I hate to hear that about 'ol George. I always thought he was an entertaining guy to talk with.

just a quick update .... Maverick Gunsmithing in Mebane did an awesome job. He called me back the next day to tell me it was ready. Very reasonably priced too. I will go back to see him. On a side note, he sells firearms and accessories as well.
