H&R wood Refinishing

Wanted something a little more Rustic looking so I stripped and lightly burned and stained…any suggestions on a top coat something that’ll protect the wood a little more

I didn't do the burning thing, simply sanded mine down and coated with Linseed Oil until the wood stopped absorbing it.
Did four H&R's that way years ago and they still look great.

@Snal~ I used some minwax golden oak 210b as my stain but looking for options too put a protective coat on it

Turnt out pretty nice…sanded light burn some stain and some clear enamel air brushed on purty nice.. 😊

👍 on the linseed oil. That's what I use for a flatter finish and water presentation

I used ting oil on a rescued Stevens … don’t recall specifically why at the moment but, I was way happy w the results ..

I used tung oil on a birch stock I refinished after burning. I did put one layer of walnut on first though. Turned out pretty good. The one you did turned out nice.

@Natemi I wanted a little darker finish something Robust I had never tried the burn technique but it turned out nice
