Hardee's Mushroom and Swiss burger

That one seems to vary more than anything else on their menu.
Loving that jalapeno double running right now, it's no Diablo, not by a mile, but it's decent.
I wish they'd abandon their stringy little fries for their sister Co. Carl's Jr's waffle fries.

Daaaaaaamn!!! Wife going to Kohls, just ate one and ask her to bring me another one.
Pretty dang strong for a fast food burger

Hardees really pushed the right buttons when they went to the higher grade Angus beef and then broadened their hamburger varieties/selections. If you haven't tried their Frisco Thickburger yet then give it a shot too. Sourdough bun and all of the things that make my mouth happy.

Awesome I tell ya

I don't like there fries either. I would like some
crinkle cut fries

The problem I have with Hardee's is the lack of consistency between their stores. The one close to work was one of the worst Hardee's that I've ever tried to do business with. When they're good, they're really good but there doesn't seem to be any middle ground. The stores are really good or awful.

Which is a shame because they really are some of the best fast food burgers out there today.

The sourdough is a little weak, but that's my go to.
Is this cannabalism?

Same thing in our area with consistency..........some are so different I refuse to stop there. We only have one in our area that is decent and they also do a fantastic job with their Low Carb Thickburger that I get sometimes.

Im a Hardees fan but rarely eat there because of the availability - seems Im never near one when Im hungry/there arent as many of them

Mmmmmmmm, Hardee's.

They have diet Dr. Pepper, which was my second favorite before I stopped having aspartame. They have the low-carb thickburger that I love. They put bacon on almost everything. Their chicken is at least pretty cheap even though it's not the best around.

My only complaint is lack of low-carb breakfast options and when my wife orders a burger without cheese they can't stop themselves from putting it on anyway.

Which is funny as h*ll because they bought the Roy Rogers chain to "get their chicken recipe".

Yeah, but you can just eat half the biscuit or none of it depending on what you get. I haven't had one in a long time but Hardee's steak biscuits used to be the best tasting of any of the chains.

The wife and I usually do this and give the leftovers to the chickens.

Most folks go to Buffalo Wild Wings for the wings. But if you're ever there and not in the mood for wings, try one of their burgers. They are very good. Especially if you order it with beer braised mushrooms.

I agree that consistency is the the biggest problem, I love the porkchop and gravy biscuit, when it's good it's really good, but when it's bad it's barely eatable. Service and cleanness varying is a big part of the problem also.

Tell them to take the middle out of the biscuit. You will still have the crust to wrap around the meat cheese and egg. If you get someone who has experience, they can get the crust very thin, almost wafer thin. Other lo carb options are side orders of eggs, bacon, sausage, steak, country ham, ect.

I used to love their six dollar burger when they first came out, but I have been consistently disappointed with the follow on products. The last burger I ordered was the jalapeño burger. On top of being disappointed with the burger, the patty was room temperature, not hot.
Back to Wendy's for me.
Wendy's for the hamburger, Hardee's for the chicken tenders.

Exactly. One store has great burgers and the next has burgers unfit for the inlaws. I'll take cookout any day when it comes to fast food burgers. They're the same everywhere you go best I can tell.

It's not only that. The attitude of the staff varies so much between stores. That was the biggest problem with the one on 68; nobody cared if they waited on you or not.

Okay Don. While you're on that subject, has anybody else ever ordered something, you get your merchandise, you say 'thank you', and their reply is 'not a problem'??
Whatever happened to ' thank you for choosing (name the store), or even 'you're welcome'???
Or is it just me??

I think the only place that offers service like that is chic fillet, not a burger joint, but they say please and thank you come to your table and ask if you'd like a refill, that's why they are almost always packed

It's not just you. I get that a lot. I want to tell them "It better not be a problem because if it is, I won't be back."

Am I the only one who had rather hear "You're welcome" than "My pleasure" like they say at Chick fil a?

IDK...I equate Hardee's, Wendy's, McD's, BK, etc as "fast food" and don't really go to any of those except maybe Wendy's once every 4-5 months.

Just can't get myself to go to a Hardee's to try a mushroom/swiss burger...especially not on fried bread.
IDK, glad you liked it, but I guess it's not for me. :)

Kickback Jack's Mushroom/Swiss was a winner for me this afternoon, though. :)

Interesting. I went to one in Fayetteville; cardboard would have been better ("unfit for inlaws" is an apt description). I never felt the need to walk into another one.

Agreed on cookout.

Cookout burgers taste the most like backyard grilled than any other fast food burger that I've tried. I love 'em 'Cookout style' (mustard, chili, slaw and onions).

I've heard good things but there hasn't been a real opportunity to try it since there's not one here.

The burgers at The Grumpy Monk were really good, but that's getting away from the fast food arena.

I posted a whole thread about this a year or so ago. I still say it's poor training, if not lousy upbringing, but I was roundly chastised for stating the obvious.

Curmudgeon that I am, I can't ever tell if the "It's my pleasure." is sincere. That's why I'd rather just get a "You're welcome".

KBJ's is pretty good! I like the dry rub wings they have too. :)

Hardees might be "fast food" but they're some of the best "fast food" burgers you'll find. Not as good as Five Guys IMO.
