I don't like the look of their new stuff, and their "Legacy" series gives the impression of being on the way out. So, what's the scoop? Is the new Entity/AGR series just the natural evolution in man purse design? Or is it actually as good as their roots?

Wow that looks like the homogenized future they warned us about.
Even the name is homogenized: Entity

Maybe next year's line will be called "Hen".

Looks like a pretty bland bag, not full of molle etc
I like it more than their 'traditional' items but it is a new/odd direction for them.

CCW enabled? Who, in their right mind, carries off body? I have a sling pack. In the promo pictures is shows a pistol in one pouch. Nope. I certainly would not put my knife there either. [Definitely not when I am in china. Bags go through X-Ray and knives in bags are not allowed. Knives in Pockets are not looked for. :D]

Man, that's almost respectable looking. Which is not what Max started out doing. Like they want to be Eagle Creek or something. If your Murse does not scream tacticool then your are at risk for all kinds of unwanted advances. lol

as tim tang (poon's brother) explained - tactical is a mindset not a look.

i can see the advantages in that - but at that price i think id rather just get a cheap back to school backpack.

There are advantages to not looking tactical, but tactical looks sell product. I wonder how they will fare with this new line.

I think their customers will continue to buy based on name, I think it'll also bring in new customers who didnt want loops all over the outside of their bags

As long as theyre keeping their 'traditional' packs then I think its a great business move

I carry my packs to the range, on hikes, hunting, etc. I'm not wearing a suit and tie like their models are. I am always cautious when I see a company that has had some success make such a departure from their roots.

That's just the thing, I get the distinct impression that the "legacy" series is on the way out. Many styles and colors from that line have been out of stock for a long time.

was not aware, I dont keep up with them very much at all.
In fact, I own nothing of theirs. Not that Im against it, just not in that market.

Effing hilarious...... Tim Tang???? Really??? If he had hair it would probably be in a man bun!!

"Covert Operator"..... "prepared citizen".... "detect threats"... Holy Crap, has the Army heard of these???

I have a few bags that have internal holsters for carry. I have one I use at the cabin a lot. I velcro'd a kydex holster inside. When I am running a chainsaw or doing a lot of outdoors work I sometimes don't want the gun on my hip. So I have that small bag in the Gator with a flashlight, my phone and some first aid supplies.

I have also had places and times where I could not carry a gun during work. I like having a innocent looking backpack to safely secure the gun while it is off my body. And sometimes one is none, so I may have a gun IWB and another in a bag somewhere. Options. I like options. Plus AR pistols can be hard to find IWB holsters for. :p

Fortunately there are LOTS of good backpack and bag companies. If they go completely wacko then buy someone's else's gear. There is probably a good dozen or more nice pack lines out there. IMO the gray man non-tactical line is the hot thing right now. This too shall pass. They are just tying to capitalize on the current trend.

I don't carry anything "tactical." Not in today's environment. Those bags, I do use them for the range, classes, etc. I think part of Maxpedition's problem is once upon a time they had a decent chunk of the market, and to @CZfool68 point, there are so many other manufacturers now they are scrambling to stay relevant.

Yeah, my bags aren't real tactical either. I have a Spec Ops bag that is a tiny bit tactical, but it is black a d doesn't habe a ton of molle or any exterior attachment that stand out. Plus I used it for some light rucking and to haul things to the cabin so if it is a little tactical to someone I don't care. I have a couple Vertx bags that I use if it is a work or out in the general public situation.

I don’t see anything wrong with it. I’m a big fan of quality gear that is made for carrying firearms or “tactical gear” or whatever but doesn’t scream “operator”. Maxpedition makes great stuff but I would have never considered (before I saw this) using it for anything other than in the woods or going to the range. I’m liking this new discreet style.

Heck, I use Stanley and Husky tool bags and a Mud River dog equipment bag. They're perfect for my use and I'd just as soon not advertise what I've got in there. Then there is this, complete with bluegrass music sticker on the outside :D

That gun is so appropriate for the case. An AR pistol would just look wrong in a fiddle case.

I don't see a big problem with it. Nothing wrong with a bag that doesn't scream "I'm a tactikool operator, operating operationally" OD/Coyote bags covered with molle strips and morale patches alert everyone that there might be something worth stealing inside.

My EDC bag is a marmot made for light day hikes and urban use. if it had a pouch that held a 1L nalgene water bottle, it would be perfect.

Tactical Tailor, London Bridge Trading. You can skip the other stuff.
picked up a LBT bag a few years ago, its my car/GHB now. Thing feels indestructible.

If only there was some sort of system of straps or loops out there for attaching pouches in a configuration decided by the user......

;)

What's a Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender bag look like?

;)

Seriously, for those who want a non-tactical appearing bag, there are tons of backpacks out there which are perfectly suitable. You can doctor up the internals any way you want.
