Hassan Whiteside buys $50K rifle, has it stolen from unlocked Rolls Royce

What an idiot. I really don't have anything to steal in my vehicle, but I lock my doors even at home.

I would have been on the way to try my new toy out.

Not only was it an M16, the article said he had a suppressor stolen also

People watch gun stores for folks just like him, who drop their gear in the car and head back inside

Happened here in Raleigh last year, member and his two sons left the range for the Ale House,
while they were inside somebody took all their rifles and gear from the truck.

that's the most interesting combination of first and last names that I have ever heard in NC. And yeah if it wasn't gun related I would have never heard of him.

What I just read says he bought an M16 (legally I presume) and then went to the U of Miami. What is wrong with this picture?

It’s a miracle it was recovered.
Even weirder, they said it was stolen while he was at the gunstore. So he took it outside, went back in, and it was stolen when he went back in, without him ever noticing. That should be a lesson for all of us.

I made the mistake of trying to read through the comments. The lack of NFA knowledge is impressive.:eek:

Nah. Cover story for NBA player to get out of jail free. What actually happened was that he drove to U of Miami and it was stolen there. But he couldn’t very well report that now, could he?

You know the gun store has cameras outside as well as inside.
