My pawket knife for years has been the cheap lil Kershaw Hotwire 1310WM. It was $10.50 when I bought the last batch and they're $15 now.
The idea being that I ain't out much if one gets yanked out my pawket in the woods like is apt to happen.
Anyways.
I'd been noticing the blade gettin loose for weeks and kept forgetting to address that. 'Course I go to open it up in the woods to cut some shrooms a few days ago and some bitty pieces start fallin out in the leaf litter. Idgit. 🤡
So outta curiosity I hit the Kershaw site to see if I can get s'more parts for it and they have a lil "Tell us whatchya need" section.
Didn't get a response but 3 days later the parts show up in my mailbox! For a $10 knife.
Color me impressed.. They'll def get a stronger consideration for future purchases.. 🤠👍

Kershaw has always worked good for me. And there price point is what I look for in a true edc/work pocket knife. My pocket knife gets used and abused so I don't carry my nice higher priced options for day to day use. I've bought my dad a few Kershaw folders and he has beat the crap out of them to and they keep working. They hold a good edge and are easy enough to sharpen back up. It's nice to hear there cs is good so when the ones I have finally do break or fall apart I'll have give them a call for some parts or replacement

Hmm. Might have to see if they will fix the rubber handle knife I have that went all sticky.
it’s from way back about 1995 and been in the drawer about 15 yrs now.

These hold an edge ok I reckon. With the saving grace being they're really easy to sharpen with my training wheels Work Sharp sharpener.
Cause I suck at knife sharpening. But yeah, for a GP's knife that gets used-n-abused daily it's hard ta beat for the money. 🤠 👍

I think they still offer the sharpening service.
If you send your Kershaw knife to them they'll sharpen it and send it back to you no charge.
Kershaw makes a great workin man knife sure do. I've had many and they've all performed.

I discovered the same a few months ago when I needed a torsion bar for one of my many Blurs. Excellent experience and reinforced that Kershaw is the brand for me.

Like you said, I love that Kershaw makes solid knives that are inexpensive enough ($50 in the case of my Blur) that if I lose it I won’t be upset.

Had one of these for many years. 1550 Blackout. It's phenomenal. It's USA so it was a bit more spendy, but still affordable at the time. It's really the perfect pocketknife. Has outperformed many other more expensive knives.

It may just be Kershaw’s business philosophy but I’d bet good money that being under the KAI umbrella plays a part in their customer service. I used to work for a Japanese machine tool company and they would bring advisors in from Japan to work 2-3 year tours. Those guys would spend a week digging through archived material to find a $2 bolt for a customer who owned one machine made in 1970. 😆

I bought a Kershaw lockback knife at Walmart 15 years ago on our first cross country road trip. I forget what I paid but it was somewhere in the neighborhood of $20. My girlfriend (now wife) sorta laughed and said I should get something cheaper, I was just gonna lose it anyway. Bet.

I still have it and carry it most days.

@JustKeepSwimming gave me a Kershaw Kuro assisted opening probably 2-3 years ago at this point and I’ve carried it daily since. Came very sharp from the factory but holds a nice edge when I resharpen it

Can get one for less than $30 and it’s a fantastic knife
Awesome! It is still my EDC as well. Love that little knife. Even my son carries one now.

Carried a Leek at work for at least 10 years.
Didn’t use it for a screwdriver or box cutter.
Had to replace the torsion bar once, they sent me 3.
