Greetings everyone. I’m new to the forum but I’ve been around and ive used firearms all my life. In recent years I’ve developed an interest in older weapons, including post WWI to current. I hope to learn more from this forum.

Welcome!

Good morning, David. Welcome!

Welcome and thanks for joining up with us here.

Hi. I just bought my first gun today at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center - a Ruger LCP 380. Can you tell I'm new?
BTW - my husband put in the wrong birth day for me. 6/9/60 not 9/2/44 ! how do you fix it? That is his birthday. Gotta love him.

My first gun was a Raven, so I think you did better than I did. Lol. I'm fairly new to guns myself.

Hi Millie. I hope it was the right decision to get one. Down the street from us, at 6am, a person entered a house through a window and was in the bedroom before the resident woke up. very scary. we never had anything like that happen in our neighborhood.

Living out in the woods, we never expected our homes to get broken into, but mine has been hit 4 times and the one next door 7, that's right, 7 times. Down the street one has been hit twice. Now, nobody was home when these jerks came in and took stuff from all of us, but things are nuts out there.
You did the absolute right thing in having a way to protect yourself!
Now, if you've not shot a gun before, get lessons and even if you have, get lessons! Lol. I'm learning all sorts of stuff every day, mostly on this very forum, and I've owned guns for 30+ years, just got serious about carrying one in the last year or so, had another lesson yesterday.

I can’t help you much as I’m new to the forum myself.
Enjoy the Ruger, you made a great purchase/choice!

Thank you very kindly for joining up with us here and please feel free to jump right in on the conversations. I'm guessing that you stopped by our table today at the show...

And as @Miss Lily said above...…….you two should talk as she can help quite a bit.

Take care and enjoy the forum here.

Why so serious?, lol
Love the post!
Each of us welcome newbies in our own speical way. Some of us just take the job make folks welcome to a new level.

Be careful where you tread because sometimes it'll get hip deep before you know it.

Some of the most epic battles are fought over what topping goes on banana pudding.

You'll learn all is in jest but know this: CFF is the best hang out on the web. The people are what makes this place special.

Welcome @David
How did you hear about us?

Let me start by saying that I’ve never been active in social forums. This is my first and I’m Learning as I go.
I found the forum online. I was looking for a social outlet that provided discussion to a variety of firearm topics. I wanted a forum that I could feel comfortable asking questions when I have them. I also love the local aspect of the forum.

There are people here who will honestly answer your questions.

One recent one was about buggered up grip screw threads in a lower reciver on a ar15. Honest answers. Guess what. It's fixed.

David you will fit in here fine.

Well Id say you found the right place. We’re more than a forum, we actually meetup face to face for lunches, gatherings and transactions

Trust me, the people here will answer your questions, as they have answered mine many times. You could not find a better bunch to help you out!

Welcome.
You will learn stuff here, some of which you will try to forget.
