I tried shooting this rifle at Battery Oaks last weekend. It would shoot the first round, but wouldn't load the 2nd. I tried twice with the same results. Glancing at it, I could see the bolt was on top of the round. I assumed the bolt wasn't pushed back far enough to grab it and load it.

Today, I cleaned the bolt, although I don't know if there is a right way or wrong way. I didn't research beforehand. I tossed it back together and tried to fire it. It would fire and actually load the next round, but it didn't reset the trigger. I did this three times with the same results. It would load the next round, but not reset the trigger.

This rifle had run just fine in the past. I use CCI SV and have not had problems before this. The rifle has a 4.5" barrel with a TBAC-22 on it. It also has a CMC 3.5# trigger. It's been set up like this for a long while, but it's now having trouble.

Full disclosure. I keep forgetting the BCG is not locked into place when the upper is separated from the lower and it has dropped to the floor at least a dozen times in the last year. It's landed on carpet, but has still been dropped. No damage jumps out at me, but could that be the root of my problems, considering all else is the same? And if so, how would I go about getting it the rifle running again?

Thanks!

Same mags I'm guessing?

I'll grab a different one and try it.
If you need a new one, let me know. :D

I’d try a new mag, lube the BCG, and remove/reinstall the FCG. Spray it with CLP and wipe it down while it’s out.

You said you have two? And just one has the problems? Tried swapping BCGs?

I guess I didn't need to mention the 2nd rifle. That one has a new owner.

I think I'll unload all of my mags, number them, then load a few rounds of CCI SV in each.

You mentioned the FCG. I found out from @Tim that the pins are longer in the 15-22 than in a regular AR. I think I'll also get appropriate pins for the future, but these have been in the entire time. That doesn't mean they can't start causing trouble now.

They have an expiration date or something?
Just pokin’ (Ford vs Chevy style)
I had 2 S&W semi-auto pistols that were unfeliable, they sided with the Clinton gun control, and made a blatant copy of a Glock (the Stigma). So I’m not a fan.
I do like their revolvers.

I found my issue and I am officially a knucklehead.

I thought all my mags were loaded with CCI SV. They weren't. I was shooting bulk box before switching to SV. Once those got into rotation, the rifle quit cycling.

Now, what can I do to make this cycle with CCI SV? Does someone make a lighter spring?

i don't know of any aftermarket recoil springs for the 15/22. you could always buy a new one and trim a coil off at a time until you get it to work. then keep your other spring for HV ammo.

Is your spring blue?

I'm going to say yes, until I look at it again to verify.
Ok. I know they changed them to blue at some point.

I don’t shoot much CCI SV out of mine, but don’t recall any issues the few times I’ve tried it.
