Glock doesn't even list G43 floor plates on their webpage. They stop at G42 in the Glock store index. The G43 comes with a flush floor plate and one with a pinky extension. I'm looking for one more with pinky extension, and not really a Pearce pinky extension, so they will both be the same. I checked Brownells, Midway, and Glock, and stopped looking at that point.

Any help?

Do yourself a big favor and get Taran Tactical extensions. They are pricey, but well worth it. I use a +1 in the gun and a +2 on my backup mag.

I second this. Or try a hyve tech. They are about the same but half the cost.

Derek Taran has a +3 now too. I might add a plus 3 for my backup now.

Zedhound's post reminded me. I have the original one that came with mine. If you can't link up with him to get one let me know and I'll mail it to you. I won't ever use it again, but trust me, take a look at those tarans.

I haven't used the hyve techs, but they do appear to be about the same thing.

If I pick up another mag I may get one of those +3s as well.

Thanks guys. My plan is to shoot it in a BUG match New years Eve (morning) and see if I shoot it okay with the flat base plate, only because that is the most concealable. I just like how it feels with the factory pinky extension, although I haven't shot it yet, and when I used Pearce extensions on some bigger Glocks, my finger would sometimes get pinched in the crack between the extension and the grip when shooting.

I was just surprised that I didn't see factory base plates available like the one that came on it. Zedhound, I'll keep that in mind after I shoot it, and thanks for the offer.

Edit: And Derek8404, thanks for that offer as well

Derek8404, after all that discussion on G43 trigger mods, I got this thing yesterday and it's one of the best Glock triggers I've had out of the box, which is totally different than the 19 I bought six weeks ago. This one has smooth pre-travel and breaks right at 5lbs, so I am really jazzed to see how it runs.

I don't think the pic attached, or if it did, I can't see it.

That's why I'm such a fan of the TT +1 extension. I barely adds any length at all to the mag while giving you an extra round. Which brings up the question, why couldn't Glock just make them 7rnd mags from the factory?

The six round mag capacity is one of the things that kept me from getting one any sooner than I did. The Lc9s holds 7, and so does the Shield, but the G19 I bought shoots so well, that I sold the Lc9s, and decided against the Shield because you have to push off the rear sight just to install the Apex trigger kit.

I just looked at that TT +1 and that does look like the ticket.

I was definitely disappointed when they released the 43 and saw that it was only a 6rnd mag, but I knew I was buying it anyway, because I am admittedly a huge Glock fanboy. The TTI extensions complety solved the capacity issue for me.

because who carries a spare mag with a low-capacity gun? Of all Glock's decisions, that one is one of the headscratchinist...

The funny thing is I bought it primarily to shoot BUG class matches which are limited to six rounds loaded, even though right now my EDC is usually something bigger during the week, or smaller on Sunday mornings. I just sorta hate learning to shoot the gun with one baseplate, and the spare reload mag having an appreciably different baseplate right from the factory.

I have a couple. You're welcome to one. I use the vickers and SE +2 on my spares and the TT+1 on my carry mag so I have a number of baseplates...

I do the same thing but use the vickers +2s as they're a third of the price and not giving people fits like the TT +2s.

fieldgrade the +1 TT is just a tad longer than the flat base.

Thanks Phil. I will keep that in mind. That TT +1 is now bookmarked. For once, I am going to shoot a pistol first before buying three holsters and five mags. I am the worst about doing that.

I'm doing roughly the same with the P238... came with a 6 rounder, but spares are 7. I've resolved to carrying 2x 7 rounders w/ the 6 as a last ditch/oh-@#$-last-mag option. I feel like I have a better grip and more capacity without sacrificing concealment with that option. It's just strange w/ 2 different backup mags, but I'll take that over switching mag types with the first mag change (push it to the second).

You could say please and ask nicely @Fieldgrade....that's what got you banned from the other site. Lol ;)

Yup, the specs say an eighth of an inch. Which is still a lot shorter than the factory pinky extension.

Here's the difference between the factory flush and TT+1

I just talked with you the other day. did you look up those Hyve tech ones i told you about or are you gonna do the TT+1?

I just bought another stock Glock 6 rd mag with the pinky extension. That way I have two identical mags with pinky extensions for Bug matches. We're limited to five rounds per mag for that, so i don't need higher capacity mags there.

That leaves me with the stock flat baseplate mag for pocket carry, which I like since it prints less. I am still contemplating whether to get the Hyve or the TT +1, or just roll with what I've got since I carry an extra mag anyway.

Did you still need this? I have one you can have.

Oh yea. When my wife does it she calls it "retail therapy". I think of myself more as a primate with a credit card on the intertoobz.

Yea I call is "needs" and not "wants" I still get the look though

I know I'm late to the party. My local fun store had pierce extensions for ~$6 plus 1 were a couple dollars more. I currently only have 1 mag of six with factory flat plate on it. I am slightly more accurate one handed with the extended plate and for my opinion in a carry gun that is worth the difference in pocket space. I pocket carry in a sticky holster (md-4laser?)in savane brand slacks which have pretty spacious pockets. Carry with the plus 1 pierce in the mag and keep an extended 6 round in offhand pocket. Another 6rounder kept in the center console of the car. When wearing jeans or "tactical pants" I typically am holstered in a custom(for tlr6) kydex aiwb. Even with the weather starting to turn I haven't even looked at my xdsc(tlr3) as a Carry weapon in over a year.
