So I finally ran out of build mistakes to make (or perhaps not!) on my CFF contest award-winning PSA kit, assembled the carbine, ran and passed all the static function tests, and took it to the range to do my active function tests.
When I loaded one round for the first test, I got a DNF. I (carefully) opened up and inspected the rifle and the ejected live round. I saw nothing wrong on the rifle. The primer was dimpled, but the round was intact. I repeated the test with another round and produced the exact same result.
I suspect a light primer strike, but it must be pretty marginal, imo. (Pics below.) Ideas, advice, friendly insults? TIA!
