I just got back from picking up this new Kahr. Fresh out of the box . Field stripped it to clean the factory lube ( which smelled and felt like motor oil) . Lubed up the rails and put the empty slide back on to test how it feels and now it is stuck! It won't go any further on or off than what you see . I've never had this happen before .What did I do?

Insert mag and pull trigger it should slide forward a little bit, then remove mag and pull off the slide the rest of the way. Works on my pm45.

Did you push the ejector down when you put the slide back on? My new to me .380 required me to carefully push it down on reassembly. I don't see your recoil system either? Being use to a full sized gun it was hard to take these little ones down.

I did have to press it down to get the slide back on. Didn't make me feel warm and fuzzy. This is my first Kahr. Probably my last.

Will it move at all? If so try turning it upside down and cycling it. Fidget with it, pull the trigger while fidgeting stick your tongue out on the left side of your mouth. Then I'll go $50 on it.

After some fidgeting, the ejector was hitting the firing pin, keeping it from moving backwards. I can take a tool and press it to the side and it will move and cock the gun. Moving the slide forward and pulling the trigger and it hangs again, keeping me from taking it off. Now, it's jammed about 1/8th" forward of battery. Firing pin is cocked, but seems to be forward of the sear, so now the trigger won't release the pin.

I am sooooo effin fed up with this thing, and I haven't even fired the GD thing! No way I will ever carry this POS! Now, I get to take another trip back to Gboro and have Academy send it back to Kahr. But not before I send Kahr aan email that'd make any sailor blush. If this were Tortuga, i'd unleash a string of explitives right now. As soon as I get it back, i'm selling it and getting a real effin gun!

Before you do all that, what about letting Mark Wagner look at it? He's the gunsmith at Wallburg-HP Road & Mock Rd. Shouldn't be far from you at all if you're in Midway and he's open today.

I believe he opens at 10

I wouldn't be so quick to chastise Kahr if I was the one who tried to put the gun together without all of it's parts.
Thing is, I wasn't trying to put it back together without all it's parts. I was testing to see if cleaning took some of the gritty feeling out of the slide to frame fit. Next thing I know, the slide is jammed. I've never had any other firearm do this.

I just got back from Mr. Wagner's and he said that the ejector is loose and out of whack. He was able to get the slide off, though. As I thought and he confirmed, there is no good reason why you shouldn't be able to put the slide on and cycle it without it getting jammed up like it did. And I quote, "I'm surprised they put their name on this".

I put in an RA request with Kahr last night with a few of my thoughts on the matter, so we'll see how that plays out. As much as it pains me to say, but I shoulda bought a Glock.

This is a good dude right here.

Guarantee that whichever part was blamed was not defective from the factory. Kahr is good stuff; my CM9 has been fantastic. I got it from a member that said it stayed in the truck's glove box; it was filthy - cleaned up like new and runs without problems.

Sorry for your troubles out of the box with it. Hopefully they can straighten it out.

I have a CW 380. While I'm not crazy about some of the fit and finish, it is the smallest, lightest, and most accurate gun for it's size that I am aware of. It does need to have a couple of hundred rounds run through it to break it in. I think they even mention this in the manual. I thought mine would run any ammo till I tried to run some Fiocchi at a BUG match. The wee Kahr would not feed it AT ALL. It does seem to like Hornady for defense, and UMC as range ammo.

As for motor oil in the gun, I lube all mine with Mobile 1. Works great.

So, I took it back to Academy on 4/22 to have it sent back....no word. I contacted Kahr last week and they told me the smith would be working on my gun later this week. Well, it's later. Over four weeks later! I will be contacting them shortly.

On another note, my wonderful wife surprised me with an early Fathers day present (she was afraid I would go to the gun show this past weekend and buy another gun) and gave me an LCPII!

Anybody need a CW380?

What weight do you use?

I'm glad that you have had a better exprience than I have had. This has been an expensive lesson for me, and more than likely my last Kahr.

Just garden variety 90 grain. I had owned several other sub-sub-compacts, including an LCP before the LCP II came out. I don't carry the Kahr much, but it is more accurate (if I do my part with that long trigger) than slightly larger pistols.

I would classify it as ammo picky based on my experience with it choking to death on Fiocchi, but it runs great on PMC, UMC, and Hornady Critical Defense.
