Recently scored some (loader republic?) hi-tek coated 9mm from the great and powerful Butter. From what I've seen online recommendations for coated load data are the same as lubed cast boolits. I just finished my last 1k box of xtreme plated. Same profile and weight.
Can I use the same load data on the hi-tek or do I need to rework up a load for them?
Loadmaster is setup to run xtreme with 3.8gr of bullseye. It's been my pet load for a while and I've gone through about 8 or so thousand in that time. Cycle great in all my weapons and accuracy is comparable to factory produced with the weapons in my hands.
I'll get an overall length when I make it back to the bench. But I think it's 1.15?

It's a good starting point and no need to change if it works. But you'll need to test it in all your guns.
FWIW I use the same load for coated and plated. Same caliber but I use a different powder, bullet and gun than you do. Still, it works for me.

Lead, whether coated or traditionally lubed usually needs a little less powder than jacketed or plated. The lead seals the bore a little better, if properly sized, and will build more pressure giving you more FPS.

That said, plated and lead data is usually fairly close to each other anyway so if the load you’ve been using isn’t at the upper end of the load range you should be fine.

My Lyman book shows 3.7 starting for 124gr cn. That is the closest out of the books I have. I know it runs great with the Xtreme and didn’t think it’d make a huge difference but it was my understanding that cast could increase pressure. Since I’m on the low end of what my books show I’m gonna run the first 20 through a few weapons and see how it goes. Got em for a steal and if I can load the 1700 of them I have on the progressive without having to adjust powder and dies all the better. I will prob go back to using sages reloading supply for more xtreme once I pew through these.
