TJ45's For Sale post taught me that what I have is not just a First Year of Production P7, but a Rare Commercial Model worth nearly twice what I paid!

TJ, I hope you will look this over and confirm that it is a commercial model sold new in the US, as opposed to a German Police Turn-In that was imported for sale here.

Yours is a police model. Issued in Lower Saxony (NDS marking). Don't know what you paid, but it is still a very desirable pistol.

Ok, so it is what I thought it was, which is a First Year P7 in excellent condition. I paid $1200 two years ago.

Thank you!

I desire it very much!

Definitely worth a good bit more than you paid.

I had another that was made in 1984, not in quite as good condition... my daughter loved it, so I gave it to her when she graduated from college. We're a P7 family!

Thanks again, Steve.

I had a hard time choosing between a Stainless Steel Randall 1911 or a Electroless Nickeled P7 (sn:19401) back in Dec 83' after graduating basic training. That P7 was a tack driver and used to shoot bowling pin competition with it against Delta guys in Germany before the First Gulf War. Later in the mid 90s traded it a good friend of mine for a Browning 1886 Carbine. Seem to recall that I paid $450 for it. Gun was totally reliable and accurate. Spare mags were $60-70 each back then, only drawback. Still have a holster or two.
