Hold or Dial?

I usually hold from answering when the wife calls and I am at the gunshow, but usually dial her back when I leave..

It's a pretty easy judgement call. If you answer she will send me home early but if I hold from answering I'll get another hour maybe 2.

That's how i do it.

PRS style .22 - Dial if targets are small and no movement. Hold if full size targets

PRS Style Center Fire - Hold-- adjust zero based on Average Engagement Distance possibly some combination of two depending on stage

DMM - All hold

That ^^^

If you can't, then dial elevation and hold for wind. Of course some reticles are better than others for that.

wind always changes constantly so hold wind and dial elevation. Make you a dope sheet and if you are shooting factory ammo always shoot the same lot #. Before u change lots compare new lot to old lot and adjust your dope sheet.

If you have to engage a moving target you do not have time to dial wind. I shot at bang steel yesterday and was holding 4 moa at 860 for one shot and by my follow up zero moa. You have to be able to read the wind Dan will teach that at bang steel I highly recommend U take his 2 day class plus he will make u a dope sheet. Priceless imo

What's the scenario?

3Gun? Setup for MBPR and do neither for majority of the time. I've started to dial for long range stages, say 450+. It helps to have a wrist coach, a sticker or sharpie your DOPE.

At the range ... either ... just depends. Now real world application ... hold!

Dial when you know the distance ahead of time and he’s standing still. (plenty of time)
Hold when he’s moving past the known distance and its shoot or lose.
I always hold for wind.

I like to dial for elevation and hold for wind. I have one scope with a horus style reticle with that reticle I usually do not dial just hold.

If you have time, dial for elevation, I always hold for wind.

If you don't have time, hold for both.
