Voting the bad council members out next year would be quicker, cheaper and easier I think
What if we took training and received Armed Security Guard certification, we can open carry anywhere, just have a small brief case in hand?
No doubt, I'll be doing what I can to get them voted out. It's clear they don't care about the constituents and I think the GRNC has the ability to send a clear message. The number of times "Is this constitutional?" was asked during the August meeting was a bit disturbing.
My question is, if I have a conceal carry permit and I print or expose my pistol inadvertently, will that be an arrestable offense?
No officer, I'm just happy to see you...

In the future, Wolff says he wants to restrict conceal carry ... in the above article.
Agreed. The pols, media people and petty tyrants won’t change until they have fear. Fortunately there hasn’t really been a need for most people to cross that bridge, but at some point everybody has a line.
Before the next election cycle starts, I would love to have a get together of all the Holly Springs member on this forum to discuss strategies to elect someone to the City council that will be willing to follow the laws of NC and USA. If you would like to be on the list, please rely to this thread.
I'm interested. I know there are a few other Holly Springers around here, too.
We need someone that has the ear of the Wake GOP, they haven't done much of anything worthwhile in Holly Springs at least since we moved here in 2011.
I may be wrong, but I think the problem here is that the city political scene is suppose to be non-partisan. So, the Holly Springs officials are discouraged to seek Republican or Democratic support.
In an ideal world that's how it would work, however in this world the Dems have shown up in force for their people (Christine Kelly and Aaron Wolff).
There is a second vote Tuesday night in Holly Spings City Council to prohibit Open Carry in Holly Springs greenways and city parks. Please email your opposition to Ordinance 20-04.
EMAIL COUNCIL MEMBERS and MAYOR and copy the Town Clerk to place in the record:
aaron.wolff (Author of ordinace and suspected Bloomberg follower)
Their emails can be found here: https://www.hollyspringsnc.us/143/Mayor-Town-Council
I sent an email to the council members and here is Mr Wolff’s responce:
Thanks for reaching out. To be clear, the ordinance would not prohibit open carry on greenways, but it would in parks and town buildings. To answer your question, no, we do not have plans to create an ordinance to limit speech.
I will be voting to support the ordinance at tomorrow's meeting.
Interestingly enough, open carry is a form of free speech, just like carrying a sign stating that you support a cause. Please let Holly Springs Council members know that open carry is a first and second amendment issue.
Now you're just giving him ideas!
“It is really important for people to realize that open-carry is mostly used to intimidate people,” said Becky Ceartas, executive director of North Carolinians Against Gun Violence.
“We don’t need guns whether they are concealed carry or open carry where people work and play.” she said.“
LOL...yeah, you do; you just haven’t been in the wrong situation yet.
A few thousand residents show up, carrying openly, there ain’t a g.d. thing they could do about it.
Part of an email I just sent the council members:
Heard back from Aaron Wolff regarding my request about which Apex ordinance bans open carry on town property. He responded with:
Sec 14-17.1. is...
and 14-17.2 is...
WHICH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BANNING OPEN CARRY!
It's times like this I wish I could curse on this forum...
Those of you who are in Holly Springs, one of Aaron Wolff’s cohorts is running for State Rep in District 37, however Erin Pare is running against Wolff’s friend. I called and volunteered to help Erin. If you can also help Erin please contact her through her website: https://erinfornc.com/. Erin is endorsed by the NRA and GRNC
Is that really the term for residents?
Not something cool like Holly Springtonians or Holly Springsensians?
Erin is severely underfunded compared to her opponent. I think that if we do not actively help her, then we are failing to defend our Constitution by not fighting against those that want to suppress our freedoms.
Heard back from the actual town lawyer. He states that they've modeled the Holly Springs OC ban upon this ordinance in Apex's codes:
I donated yesterday. Hope that she wins.
Did they copy this from what Chapel Hill has about open carry? With 100 counties in the state and many more local towns and villages it would be easy to violate a local ordinance if you are passing through the area as you travel in the state. I thought the state law was passed to stop this type of local anti gun laws.
I guess the folks in charge forget what happened to the ball team practicing at the field in DC when a gunman tried to murder folks.
Anyone who is interested in helping post Election Signed for Erin, please send me a private message with your name and phone number. And I will pass this info to her election manager.
Interesting video that explains Wolff’s Hoplophobia :
Good lord - that guy's views are extreme left and he is intentionally misleading people.
"The Virginia Tech shooter bought his gun over the internet"
Yeah, but it was shipped to a local FFL who did the NICS check on him, which he passed. The fact that it was bought on the internet was a non-issue, because all Federal and State laws - including background checks - were followed.
There is lot's more, but the bottom line is that he is rabidly anti.
Thanks, AlWie. It shows he's not just a local veterinarian who just doesn't want to see guns, he's an anti-gun politician.
One more detail, I think that the Holly Springs council is just a stepping stone for him to grow politically. He will try to run for state office at some point. Why do I say that? His website name .... “. electAaronWolff..com”. He is going to be around for a while. And we can start vigorously fighting the “cower and hide” approach to active shooters(lunatics) now or after they start taking away our firearms! I don’t think we have any other choices!
But one thing I would like to emphasize. We must fight with grace in our heart. We will not change Aaron’s heart. He is emotionally traumatized by what happened, but if we are kind and gentle in our words and deeds, we may persuade those that are undecided.
This x 100! Aaron is a lost cause. The best we can hope for is to vote out Kelly and Villadsen next year and ensure Aaron is a position where his power is minimized.
