Hollywood Strike

Dunno man, if we all did that we’d end up with a lot of truck drivers and nobody teaching the kids. Maybe that’s your jam, but I think there are some jobs that are undervalued but serve a necessary function in society.
Maybe those don’t include Hollywood writers, but I guess my valuation of someone’s worth doesn’t take into account their boss’s politics or preferences. Some folks are just trying to do a job and get paid well enough to live.
We have gone astray from our roots but our strength was that we were basically a meritocratic society when it comes to jobs.

Unions and government intervention has turned a lot of jobs into socialistic jobs. If you’re a teacher, or a best boy grip for example then you make the same wage as every other best boy or teacher in the industry regardless of merit.

The bottom line is there are a few teachers who should be making 6 figures, some that earn their current salary and some that should be making minimum wage.

Pay should be based on merit, not your degree, lack there of or industry and job you chose.

I'll stick to old television shows, old movies, and porn, thanks.......

This assumes people don’t have choices.

I have no sympathy for people who choose to work in an industry that is paying them less than they feel they are worth.

And yes that goes for factory workers, teachers, drivers, doctors, lawyers, and fast food fry cooks.

People may not like the choices they have but they have them. Don’t like where you’re working or what you’re making then figure out a way to leave and go somewhere you can make more. Get a degree, get a cdl, move to North Dakota and work in the oil fields.

So I couldn’t care less about what they feel they need. Especially since they work in an industry that is run by predators.
And or start your own business.

Try two or three it has worked for plenty of people.

You don’t deserve top pay for entry level jobs. And if you have no drive to advance or change to a higher paying job the world doesn’t owe you more money for the same low paying job.

Or in the words of my mother whenever I didn’t get a good grade “The world needs ditch diggers too”.
And those suckers make a fortune.
