Got the 510c and love it! Recently ordered a RMR cut slide for Glock and I'm seriously thinking the Holosun 507 or 508. Anybody have experience?

Have a 407C, same as 507C but only the dot.
Like it, don't use the auto dimming, and therefore don't use the shake awake.
It's daylight bright, hasn't given any trouble. 3-4k under it so far. No major impacts or drops.
Minor gripes, the frame is super thick, if you target focus it doesn't matter. If you don't use the auto features the buttons kinda suck for turning it off.

For a pistol mounted Red dot, holosun is the only other optic I would use I didn’t have RMRs. They’re good to go.

I have a 510C GR for Carbine classes and i have used and abused it and it has been good to go. Some of the guys turn their nose up at it, but I think the features are better than the Eotech and so far has held up. I have at least 4K rounds on two different AR's it has been mounted on and it gets tossed around and is a little beat up. Solid.

So i have been wanting to get a Dot site for a handgun, so i bought a Canik Elite combat executive and bought a holosun 507C Gr, I put it on Wednesday. Haven't shot it yet, but it will get a lot of use. I like the fact that it has solar power, shake awake, multiple reticles, auto off. I got a Zeiss LPVO around Chistmas and left the nob on and the battery was dead next class. Holosun battery life i s 5+ years...

My single gripe with most LPVO. Turn it on at match. Next match, replace battery and repeat.

I am anxiously awaiting the day of shake awake 50,000hr daylight brite LPVO! Luepy has a nice system on their VXR Patrol and other scopes.

Yea, i gambled on the Zeiss name and that awesome price they had at Black Friday, but the damn thing is so dim in day light it ... well... i pulled it off my new primary (14.5 AR from Larue) and put it on the 16 inch Aero which is now the backup/distance gun. Stuck the 510C on the Larue.

Yeah, if it's not daylight bright, I probably go with something else.

I've got the 508t and so far so good. I think I'm going to buy 507c to put on another pistol when I get the slide cut. I like the Circle & dot right now for getting it on target faster since I'm new to pistol optics.

No experience yet with the 507 or 508. I expect to remedy that soon though. I DID buy a Sig with the Sig Romeo recently and can say I like it so far. Only been a week but I really like it. Holosun will be my next purchase I'm thinking though...

I've got the 507C and I absolutely love it. Big fan of Holosun. Have a bunch of their products.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my 407c. I have the HE515CT as well in green and it’s been rock solid as well.

Man I hope yours was an isolated problem. My 507c will arrive tomorrow. Hopefully in time for me to mount and shoot it before dark.

I kinda wanted the 508T but palmetto has the 507c on sale for $229 with free shipping. Then if you use the word "optic" in the coupon section you get an additional $20 off. So $209.00 shipped.

The optics geared towards subcompacts like the P365 and Glock 43 type pistols are designed to co-witness with standard height sights so they are going to sit the lowest. That’s gonna be your Sig Romeo zero, Shield RMS-c and the new Holosun 407/507K. Out of the optics made for standard size guns, the Trijicon RMR is gonna be the lowest profile.

Question for you guys on installation. Is blue loctite fine for set screws? It says 9-15 inch pounds on torque. I don't have a torque tool that goes that small. Snug it and give an 1/8 turn be okay?

ETA: Read online where some say use purple loctite..

On some very small set screws, I have been known to use PURPLE LocTite. Blue is typically what is recommended.

I would try to borrow a torque screwdriver. They are not that expensive if you are going to be doing this more than once.

I have an aftermarket trigger for a GLOCK that said they used RED LocTite on it when I received it. To adjust that allen screw, it required a LOT more heat than I wanted to use to make the adjustment.

I use blue. I torque to 16. That is not very tight.

If going on a Glock make sure the right screw doesn't interfere with the extractor spring and whatnot.

Thanks for all the advice. Got her mounted. A few hours later I put 50 rounds through it to sight in. Extremely happy.

I have about 300 rounds through mine and so far no issues. I have the green dot version. It is awesome for those of us who need reading glasses to see the front site clearly.
