Are any of the resident black powder enthusiasts milling their own? What percentages do you like, what kind of charcoal is your go to, what are you loading it in? Any local sources you like for ingredients?
 
I don't have any info about BP, but I used to hunt with a guy that made his own and would dry it in an aluminum pie pan in his oven. That was until the pie pan flexed as it warmed up and flipped the BP up on the heating element. After that mishap, his wife would not let him use the oven anymore.

I bet that would put the brakes on the powder baking!
 
The ingredients seem simple enough. My biggest curiosity was always the refinement . “What grain is that? Cannon? FFF? Idk”

The lead ball mills aren’t a massive barrier to entry either
