So over a year ago I ran across a yard sale in Cove City that was an old tack and feed store owner selling out to move due to family passing etc. We loaded down 2 trailers of stuff cheap but I picked up several "hoof rasps" new for $5 a piece and a couple used ones for $1. They're around 14" long and a rough rasp on one side and a rough file on the other. Man have they been awesome in the shop for rough wood working, working on HDPE and other items. I really think everyone that has a shop should have one. If you're out and about keep an eye out for them or hunt one down they're worth it.

Yep, I had a few when I had horses.
Peeling apples with a hoof knife is good too.
