Hot sauce recommendation

I need to try the black. I love the flavor and heat of the green but I’m the only one in the house that can tolerate it lol maybe my wife can enjoy the black one with me. I don’t believe I have seen it in the store but I haven’t been looking either. I will for sure check next time!

My personal favorite, it’s hot but has great flavor. 1698261854680.jpeg

That one is good, I like the red (ripe peppers) one better.
My go to is the XXX Mayan recipe. I’ve one in the fridge, one in my vehicle and keep ~3 in the pantry.

Project X peppers themselves aren't coming out until their developer locks down all the rights to his product to protect it from others.

The Pepper Palace we were at had free samples. Various sauces on all the shelves had squeeze bottles for almost everything carried. Plastic spoon dispenser to use.

The guy said to be wary of actual variations in heat because what's in the squeeze bottles may not be quite as potent as what's in the unopened bottles for sale, depending on time since they were filled. He puts them all in the refrigerator every day, but said it's possible for some to have lost a bit of their potency.

Anyway, my daughter and I had a blast trying everything out before we settled on the 8 bottles of hot sauce and hot BBQ sauce.

As I've said before, I'm a flavor guy...I can take some heat, but if it's all about the heat and crap on flavor, I'm not interested. I was surprized at how well I handled their hottest sauces. Having some kind of flavor actually helps with the heat tolerance, in my opinion.

I picked up a bottle of Mr. Pain, which was supposed to be the hottest on the shelves. And I agree on that. The guy had hotter stuff behind the counter, and I considered buying a tiny bottle of The End - Flatline Hot Sauce. I was going to try some, but lost track of it during all the conversations we were having. According to their website, these who fall under their "extreme" hot sauce category, greater than 300,000 SHU. But nothing is individually rated for SHU, so I don't know how they all rate this way. You can find information about the SHU ratings of various peppers themselves, but not the bottled products.

ANYWAY...we're both looking forward to a Hot Ones type wing event and it's pretty much a given that the two of us are the only ones in the family who are going to do this. My other daughter might try
the BBQ hot sauce made with peaches. She's a big peach fan!

Love that El Yucateco is getting lots of love on here. Recently ordered a sampler of some of their new flavors and some old that I've just never tried.

Habanero & Coffee is really good. Kind of like a less vinegary Tabasco chipotle with some added sweet notes. I don't know if I'll keep ordering online if it doesn't make it to local stores but it's solid.
The Marisquera Black is really interesting and tastes great. It has a soy sauce taste to it that makes it not quite universal but still great.
Habanero Pineapple is also great but would only really want it on certain foods. It's better than other sweet hot sauces I've tried but in general sweet hot sauces aren't my thing.
I know it's one of the OGs but first time trying the green. Flavor is probably the best out of all of them but heat it nearly non existent. I've been mixing it with some of the other hot sauces and the mix is great.

Did not care for the Habenero & Chiltepin. It's not terrible or anything but wouldn't get another bottle. I'm not sure what the flavor is exactly that I didn't like, just not a great flavor.
The Hab&Ghost I did not like at all. The heat is fine but it has almost a bitter taste. Yellowbird ghost is much better. I've been mixing this with the green or pineapple and it's a good combo. Gives the other sauces more heat without overpowering their flavor.

Overall I will def keep green on hand along side my trusty XXXtra hot. The Marisquera Black and Pineapple should last a while since they are more food specific. I'm going through the hab & coffee like water but not sure I can justify paying shipping over just getting Tabasco Chipotle at the store for cheap.
