House passes defense bill that rescinds COVID vax requirement. The democrats are being mouthy about it but have said they won't let it prevent the bill from passing.

It's been an assumption of mine that the mandate caused the discharge of active military members.
I didn't see anything in that article that said anything about hiring them back with BACK PAY!

That was my first question - will those discharged/forced to retire get their positions back at all?

How many of them would even want to return to military duty after they’d been given the boot like that and then having to find normal work? I think that they should be given the option and if they chose to stay separated that their discharge status is listed as honorable because they shouldn’t have a stigma because they refused the COVID poison.

One I know has no desire to go back.

My friends daughter had just graduated HM school and was on her way to C school after graduating top of her class, they gave her the boot after she refused the shot.

My RA memo never got a response. I ETS'd as normal. I have zero interest in going back. More money and freedom as a CIV. About all I lost were the donza days. Now they're just quiet days in the office I can get admin work done.

Of course not.

Not any that I know. Generally speaking, the folks that were forced out over vaccine mandates have opinions that run contrary to other official policies as well and are disillusioned with the direction of the .mil as a whole.

One I know has no desire to go back.

Two. You know two with no desire to return.

My RA memo never got a response. I ETS'd as normal.

My RA memo got kicked back at least three times with extra requirements added by the MIRC even thouh it complied with Big Army's requirements.
It took less time for my retirement packet to process (~120 days) than my RA (>9 mos)
I now have retirement orders in hand that go live in 15 days.

My guess is the house didn't pass this on their own accord, I suspect they were instructed to pass this.

Same as when they were instructed to pass the jab requirement initially.

Wasn’t the jab requirement an EO or maybe a directive put in place by that shit stain Austin? IDR the house or senate doing anything with it but I’ll admit to having trouble keeping tabs on all the string pullers dealing with this.

I do not know if this applies across the services, but what is coming out of the air force is, should this pass and you don't want the vax, fine. But then you will be put in not-deployable billets and no TDY.

So, voluntary, with a cost.
