I agree, let it play out in the court, we need to see all the evidence. Something not right about this.

The "2 gunshots fired 30 mins after the raid" element to this is interesting and disturbing. I imagine that's the root, or part of the root at least, of the evidence tampering charges

Andy Drumheller, Bryant's attorney,..
was "troubled that a person... was given a couple of hours notice that he's been charged with a state jail felony on a Friday afternoon and needs to turn himself in."

Oh yeah! Monday would have been better I guess.

Pretty sure we don’t really give people notice of charges, since that could encourage them to run. Of course the privileged have a different set of rules and operate through their attorneys, but to be upset that this unwritten rule wasn’t followed.

Yeah, this reads like some "Training Day" level stuff.

They've also charged the person who allegedly called in the initial report to police.
They were part of the collusion. I think she was a friend or acquaintance of Goines.

This undermines the whole department and opens up a ton of lawsuits from their cases alone. And the city/tax payers are going to have to pay for it. Not to mention potentially unraveling any good work that may have been done.

Following the shooting, prosecutors began reviewing more than 2,000 cases tied to Goines and Bryant. In June, prosecutors said their investigation has grown into a probe of 14,000 cases handled by the Houston Police Department's narcotics division

I had not read or heard that detail. I knew they were now reviewing all their cases but I did not know the initial complainant was part of the conspiracy

That actually happens pretty frequently a for a variety of reasons, arrangements are made for people to turn themselves in all the time. It can vary from allowing them time to find child care, someone to take their family pet.....arranging time off of work, working around their school schedules etc.

Even on murder charges?

It may be naive to think you’re incorrect, but I would expect that’s only with non-violent crimes. I know for a fact that CMPD isn’t notify “Johnny gang banger” that they are charging him at 12pm tomorrow for a drive by, and asking nicely that he turn himself in.
