    What he said^^^

If you have a QD sling swivel socket on your rail (or you can get one from Magpul) you'll be all set.

That end plate is made to take a claw type sling end. You have QD ends on the MS$. You can get or might have depending on the rail you have on up on the rail and also you can get stocks or your stock might have a socket for it.

Well the sling is a single/2 point sling but only has qd attachments. The attachment point on the rifle required a clip style instead of qd. I guess I’m not sure what you mean by the wrong end. Thanks!

Thanks, it’s actually a brace so there is no qd attachment point. I didn’t think of it before staking the castle but or I would have used a qd point end plate instead of a loop.

One QD appears sewn-in on one end of the Magpul M4 sling, while the other end looks like you can "unbuckle" the QD from it and thread that end through the attach point.

Just use a dremel with a cutoff wheel to take the staking off then replace with a qd end plate. Its super easy a file will work too or even a hacksaw blade. All you got to do is get the stake off enough to turn the nut and while its off touch it up

If you want it to DQ you’re going to have to either replace the end plate or the stock with a product that includes a QD socket. Personally I’d use a piece of paracord until I decided I love the sling.

Nope... If it makes you feel better, go for it though. Won't hurt. I just torque it down tight with my castle nut wrench and run the shite out of it... Never had one come loose; not my truck gun, not even my competition guns that get tossed around.

I like to be able to swap stuff around. Staking is for gas keys...

I've been real happy with one of his rifles I bought five years ago and he was very helpful to me when I had an issue that was of my own making.

I don't "know" him well enough otherwise to assess his knowledge or character, but I know he has sold a lot of rifles that enjoy a quality reputation. I also recognize your work with quality rifles and training.

If you disagree with his practice of not staking a castle nut, why not explain why?
