I picked up two of these mag pouches from SIG for $5 each when they did a free shipping special before Christmas. They're for MPX mags, but I'm going to either add bungee to the top or snug the pouches up so they accommodate Colt 9mm mags a little better.

But I'm not much of a gear hound, so I'm at a loss for how to actually attach these to a belt. They're just the hook part of hook-and-loop on the back. I assume they'd mate perfectly with a plate carrier that has the loop part of hook-and-loop on it, but I don't want a plate carrier. How can I get this to play nicely with a simple gear belt?

Go to WalMart in the hardware section or arts and crafts section and pick up some Hook/Pile Tape (Velcro). Sew the pile section to your belt or make a looped section to go over the belt. I keep some heavy tent needles with me with gutted 550 cord (parachute) for repairs or projects like this.

Buy 2 tekloks. Buy heavy duty adhesive back Velcro. Attach to teklok. Drill or melt holes in Velcro to align with holes on tekloks. Use included hardware to further attach the purchased Velcro to the tekloks. Then attach Velcro to Velcro.

To play off RR's comment, I would ditch the velcro entirely. Buy the tekloc's, which are awesome, and just punch/melt holes in the mag carrier to match them. Might need a washer to reinforce the fabric.

They can only be mounted on the Special Tacticool MPX Mag Pouch Carrier.

Unfortunately, that is not on sale. Shipping and Handling are extra.

To play off Chief Jason, who is playing off RR….I would thrown them in the "damn I didn't think about that when I bought them" box, (with all the other holsters, and web gear, and crap) cuss, order exactly what you needed :)

Kidding. Tec Locs are great.
