I can assure everyone that I’ll loose exactly zero sleep knowing that someone on the internet doesn’t take me at my word.

I’ve known for a very long time that many people are patriots up until it’s time to do patriot shit, it’s up to each of us to decide where we draw the line.

As much as I would like to show up in person, I donated to the VCDL/GOA effort to do it legally. Going up there armed like I would always travel sounds like quick way to being put in a situation where I may have to defend myself and I simply don't do that if I can avoid it. That being said, I feel guilty for not doing more. However, it's not my state and I'm not buying what all is being sold about this. I think it's a trap set by Bloomberg to advance his agenda.

The distance doesn't help. Raleigh would be a go.

I'm assuming, by tomorrow this time, we'll have boots on the ground in VA. And we'll be getting sitreps. It would be particularly cool if any of you are hams and can set up HF comms. Hmm... I should look up which repeaters in the area are Echolink. Hmm... over to the Comms sub-forum...

Pics posted and some discussions going on in telegram.

I've posted about VHF and HF comms and comm plans that folks on ARFCOM have coordinated. One individual has already planned to be broadcasting updates via OLIVIA (digital HF mode) starting on 20m and maybe moving to 40m later in the day. I believe the Richmond repeater has an Echolink node

Channel has been set up on broadcastify linking the primary VHF channel for listening as well.

I'll update the comms thread and link the arfcom posts if folks are interested.

OK. I just posted the Echolink node info in the Comms sub-forum.

ETA - I just changed the thread title to Richmond, VA 1/20/20 Comms.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend due to work but I plan to leave my shack up and running, monitoring OLIVIA on the predetermined freqs. I may have the better half try to get on here and post any updates that come across while i'm at work.

If anyone that's going has mobile winlink capabilities we're good to go on that front as well, not sure if there are any winlink vhf nodes in that area or not. HF comms may be the only way to get anything out of the area depending on what the cell grid does.

Where did you post the ARFCOM details? Can you post them in my thread in comms?

Gov of Va is looking demonize gun owners and supporters. Fences, repealed cc receproicity, looking to arrest a couple hundred people who disobey whatever he says.
I could see thousands of people with a much different idea of what they grey shirts can do with the idea that anyone is going to make an “arrest”.

If I were to attend, I'd be armed and armored. With full intention to finish the job that needs to be done, ie., the filthy commie politicians hanging from a noose from a lamp post. IMHO, there is no voting out of this shitstorm about to break upon us.

Anyone bringing a bolt cutter?

What kind of tools are needed to take apart the fences?

If they start to arrest then take a play from the liberals: Cut the fence where the panels join, push through, overwhelm the system.

A set of Klein pliers will cut through any of that fencing no problem.

“My family hunts, but I think gun control is necessary,” she said. “You shouldn’t be worried if you’re not doing anything illegal.”

Anthony Berrios, who lives near the Capitol, said he will stay with his girlfriend, who lives in a different part of the city, on Monday. He said the premise behind the rally is misguided.

“It’s a myth that the government is trying to take their guns away,” he said. “I just wish people would really take an objective look at what’s best for society versus what’s good for themselves.”

I am going to follow the sage advice of Clint Smith to not allow myself "to be subjected to the whims of other people without your permission". That applies to the events of tomorrow and beyond.

Not even a forum member who will berate you for not being a real patriot or some nonsense?

Well, I might make an exception for a forum member. :p

Anyways ... it seems we're fractionally short of being "Threepers" here in CFFland.
More like "Twopers". :D

I find city dwellers to be obnoxious.

They are conditioned. We are all just like any other animal. I sat in a hotel lobby yesterday and watched human being wait in line at a Starbucks. It cracked me up. It took people about 30 minutes to get their little cup of coffee and get out. That may or may not be good coffee, but that level of service is laughable.

Habits and conditioning are hard to break.

And yet you stared at a stranger for thirty minutes as they got coffee.

It's NOT good coffee. RARELY get it, not worth half an hour wait. And it doesnt take half hour to brew coffee, so Im curious why they were waiting for thirty.

I had 2 hour of kid’s sports-imposed time to kill while stranded at the convention center. The Marriott offers good seats and zero screaming teenage girls. Seemed like a solid option at the time. At least a better option than standing in line for coffee.

Because a lot of people are HELPLESS. Brew their own coffee??? Also, there is a sunk cost/inertia thing going on ("I've spent 10 min already; might as well spend another 5...I've spent 15 min already; might as well spend another 5...").

At least that person got something for waiting. Youre just the guy posting online about watching someone wait in a line lol ;)

@RFMan what Im saying is that STARBUCKS doesnt take thirty to brew a pot of coffee. So, again, curious why so long.

I kid with CZ, but Im sure he wasnt staring for half an hour, maybe they were just talking to barista or something.

There's no telling what they were doing. I went by a Starbucks one time where three people were taking orders and one person was getting them ready :) I think that's a recipe for a backed up line ;)

I have no clue why. I wasn’t venturing in that place. Understaffed maybe? Shitty employees? Who knows? But damn if those people didn’t really want those coffees.

I am happy that I was wrong about everything going to crap at the rally today, I guess antifa isn’t nearly as stupid as I thought they were!

I don't think it's about being stupid, they're pussy's. They mainly show up and cause trouble in gun free zones.
